The best are often found in midst of thunderous chaos.

‹‹‹‹ ★ ››››

Weirdly enough, Moosestar couldn't help but miss the warmth the previous moons had provided them. Of course he understood the way of the seasons, and so he found himself blaming no-one.. but he couldn't help but feel some sort of odd bitterness. So is the way of the world, he supposed.

As the sun crawled up the sky (it was doing a pretty lackluster job.. considering how cold it was), Moosestar made his way up onto the higher stones the hung over the center of the camp. This place had previously made him feel a sort of fear or caution, with how high it was.. but now, it finally felt like it fit in his paws, like it was familiar: right.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join me beneath the High Rock for a clan meeting."

The announcement came easy as well.. how odd it felt, yet so good at the same time.

Bloodlines of strength ignite fierce souls

Wildcry’s ears flicked at Moosestar’s call. She felt a faint ache in her bones as she stood, then reminded herself with a wry smirk that she had more to carry these days.

Padding over, she took her place near the edge of the crowd, her belly beginning to show the slightest of curves beneath her pelt. It was hardly noticeable but there was a quiet pride that she couldn’t quite ignore. Wildcry sat down, wrapping her tail neatly over her paws, and cast an softly judgemental look at Moosestar on the High Rock. She couldn’t help but feel a flicker of amusement, seeing the way he had begun to settle into his role.

Wildcry’s ear twitched, and she shifted her attention back to Moosestar, ready to take in the days announcement to who would follow him to the Gathering.

Bravesong was tucked into the cozy shadows of the warriors' den, nibbling at a piece of tough mouse. The taste of fresh prey was starting to feel more and more like a distant memory, replaced with the familiar tang of cold, hard-earned morsels.

Hearing Moosestar’s voice ring out across camp, Bravesong perked up, the old ache in his limbs protesting as he rose to his paws. He paused, giving his chest fur a few hurried licks before heading out. Pride swelled in his chest as he padded forward to join the gathering, thinking back on how far Moosestar had come since first stepping up as leader.

Settling himself near the front, Bravesong flicked his tail around his paws and looked up with quiet anticipation. Whoever Moosestar led to Fourtrees, he felt certain Moosestar would guide them well - just as the sun rose each morning, no matter how cold it felt.

Spawn of flame, Thunder-struck, from the ashes I rise

Leopardrose was crouched in her corner of the warriors' den, fussing over her nest with precise flicks of her paws, determined to clear away stray bits of brittle bracken. The chill had crept in almost overnight, and she wasn't about to let the cold seep in through her bedding. As she carefully layered fresh moss over the base, Moosestar's call echoed entered her ears.

She lifted her head, catching sight of him up on the High Rock. It seemed he was settling into his role with more confidence - something Leopardrose admired. Giving her nest a final satisfied pat, she rose and slipped out of the den, her sleek pelt catching the light as she made her way toward the gathering cats.

BRINDLESPICE: (No updated image womp) Following a brisk outing in which the she-cat had gained some semblance of fresh kill, the newly made warrior returned to camp with a thin squirrel dangling from her jaws. She had deposited it into the fresh kill pile, all the while giving it a leery, scrutinizing glance. Wasn't too much to show for it, but maybe someone would enjoy it. Once Moosestar's call rose into the air, her ears perked - she had clearly forgotten the Gathering was tonight and quickly moved to settle in the crowd.

Even the smallest pebble can make ripples that change the course of the stream.

Greypebbles, upon hearing the voice of Moosestar, perked up his ears and his head up. He had been perched comfortably by the warriors den when the meeting was called. The young warrior blinked, the last time he went to the gathering, he acted as if he was ill, and it worked for the most part about getting cats away from him, but he felt that if he went today, it would be somewhat redundant to repeat that again. He would simply not talk to any cat he didn't personally know, that should be easy right?

The small grey tom settled in the clearing at the edge of the clearing blending in with the other warriors. That's how he liked it, he liked not being noticed, he liked not being special, but sometimes, he just wished that he would matter to someone... anyone.

I may be small, but I’m braver than I look.

The call of Moosestar made Robinkit flinch but having not really heard the call before, it intrigued her, she stretched out her tiny paws and then waddled towards the entrance of the nursery, wrapping her tail around her paws as she sat at the entrance to the nursery. Am I old enough to catch my own prey yet? she thought to herself "Probably not" she muttered to herself, but she was still intrigued to what was happening, so she continued to sit, colorless eyes fixed onto the lanky brown body of her leader.

Cherrytree was fast asleep in the midst of the elders den, not even her ear twitching at the call of Moosestar. There was no chance of getting her to a gathering anymore so she simply just slept through the announcement. If anything interesting happened she would overhear it from someone the next morning, it was as simple as that.

-

Hearing the call of Moosestar snapped the cream she-cat from her deep thinking, sending her green gaze flickering over the gathering mass of cats. Hopefully Moosestar picked her tonight. Gatherings were a way to escape the pressure of her own clan and mingle freely with the others. Part of her wanted to see Sootpaw too. What caught her eye first though, was young Coyotepaw peering out from the depths of the apprentice's den. The poor she-cat was alone in that den, probably being consumed by the silence just as she was. She had been taken care of by her brother, so to Larchsong, she pretty much felt like kin, more like kin then most of her actual kin. She padded over to the den, sitting beside Coyotepaw in comfortable silence.

-

While most apprentices would be excited over the possibility of going to their first gathering, Coyotepaw felt her blood run cold. There would be so many unfamiliar faces, but the chance to see some faintly familiar ones too. Larchsong sitting beside her almost sent Coyotepaw jumping out of her skin, but she managed to keep the response to a low, instead just flattening her ears in surprise slightly. The company was nice, and so was Larchsong but she hardly knew her. Why was she sitting here?
