Skyblossom and Mistyleaf

As she swiped with her claws sheathed, Skyblossom wondered why it seemed so uneventful that day. The apprentices didn't have battle training, leaving the clearing empty, most of the warriors were out hunting or relaxing around camp, and she... She was taking the time she had been given to hang around the forest and practice her battle moves, remembering every movement to the moves her mentor had taught her.
She had only recently become a warrior, so she hadn't seen much regarding the battlefield, but she should still keep her skills sharp. Even when they weren't fighting with the other Clans, border disputes could happen, along with anything else that could transpire. Letting out a huff, she wondered why she was even thinking about it.
Unsheathing her claws to sharpen them against a tree trunk, she watched as she left prominent scratch marks behind, her claws ripping through the bark slowly. After satisfying herself with her work, she sheathed them and unsheathed them, making sure that they didn't become stiff from how little she used them. Besides her lack of experience in actual fights, she preferred to use her fangs to kill prey rather than her claws. Her claws normally made quite the mess out of her catch, whereas her fangs only pierced into the neck, making it a little less bloody.
Practicing her battle leaps and pounces next, she stretched her legs, enjoying the feeling of her muscles tensing. Leaping up a tree next, she decided that she should practice leaping out of a tree, as that was a skill that she hadn't really done well with as an apprentice, plus, her mentor wouldn't let her do it much since it was dangerous. Leaping from branch to branch, she enjoyed being so high up.
... Until she realized that she probably couldn't get down without any injuries. Trying to find a good branch that would hold her weight was complicated, and she couldn't go the way she came because of the way the branches were, each being too low to leap to from where she was now. Sitting down, she decided to form a plan over time, but that might end up taking her a while.
Why did I do this again? Oh right! I wanted to prove to myself that I could climb trees properly without supervision. *Huff*.

"Ah, yes! There's quite a lovely view of the territory from up here! Of course, I don't exactly want to spend the rest of my life looking over ThunderClan territory in a tree." She said, somewhat sarcastically. Looking down at Mistyleaf with a forced smile, Skyblossom leapt to a branch lower than the one she was lounging on, digging her claws in so as not to lose her footing.
"How's it looking down there, Mistyleaf?" Skyblossom called out, just curious to hear the she-cat's answer. Snickering at herself inwardly, she leapt to another branch, suddenly enjoying the way it felt to be so high up and almost, just almost, gliding through the air.
Well, that is, until she slipped and fell to the ground with a small thud. Thankfully she had gotten to a branch that wasn't quite as high, but it still hurt. Checking her claws to make sure she hadn't lost any, she noticed that one of them had a small tear in it. Dragging it against the tree to shorten and sharpen it, she almost forgot that Mistyleaf was watching her.
Great. Now she's seen me falling to my small doom of a slightly torn claw. That's somewhat embarrassing. Oh well. Every warrior has fallen out of a tree at least once, right? She thought, turning to look over at the silver torbie.

"I'm fine." Skyblossom said, looking away from Mistyleaf for a moment, slightly nervous since it felt like she was observing carefully. "See?" She continued, moving around to show the she-cat that she hadn't broken anything. "If anything I've only got a few scratches and bruises. I'll probably just be a little sore later. Though it is true that this is one of the best places to fall. If it weren't, I'm sure apprentices would get injured a lot more than they already do..." She finished, getting distracted from the slight stinging where the branches had scratched at her.
Looking down at herself and searching through her fur to make sure that the scratches weren't bleeding, she confirmed that the scratches had only effected a small layer of skin, with probably only a few that might start bleeding. Proud of herself for not hurting herself too badly, she swished her tail, her eyes lighting up with excitement and wonder. She wanted to jump back into the tree and climb more, despite the fact that she knew it was dangerous if one wasn't careful. Of course, she knew better than to do so, which is probably why she didn't scamper up a tree right then.
"What are you doing over here, Mistyleaf? Were you tasked with checking to see if the training grounds were safe, or did you just feel like spending some time around here?" She asked, hoping to turn the she-cat's attention away from the minor injuries she had sustained from the fall. If they were bad enough later she'd go to the medicine cats, but she was sure that she'd be fine.

"I'd go with you if I had the time, but I have to practice my battle moves and take some prey back to camp after that. Maybe I'll come next time, Mistyleaf. It was nice talking to you!" Skyblossom said, tilting her head slightly and smiling as she watched the silver torbie she-cat preparing herself to leave.
Not quite the interaction I was expecting, but it was still fun. Mistyleaf is a really diligent warrior, isn't she? One of these days I should ask her if she needs help with anything... Warrior duties can become hectic sometimes. She thought, flicking her tail as she turned back towards the trees, ready to climb up them again. The more she did it, the better she'd get, right?
