Open to Join [Sticky] [ACTIVITY CHECK] SC Pre-Gathering Meeting - 14TL'20

Clovershine had been curled up in the nursery, but awoke to the rustling of her kits and the calling of her beloved sister’s voice. The cream lynx point she-cat stood on her paws and drew them out into a long stretch, taking in the fresh air of more recent moon, despite the heat, her shorter coat made it somewhat bearable.

the ShadowClan queen slipped out of the nursery and into the main clearing, where she spotted Murkkit who had been rolling about with a sparrow feather. She had left Redkit and Dazzlekit in the nursery for the time being, knowing if they wanted to follow her, they would more than likely follow her scent to wherever she had gone, which was not very far.

"Murkkit dear, have you come to listen to the pre-gathering meeting?" The queen asked lightly, a purr lacing the kindness in her voice. "Perhaps you could run along and and see if your brothers want to join you" she suggested before turning to Palestar, giving her a smile and a flick of her tail to greet her dear sister

Hickorystorm dozed in the shade of camp, enjoying the fresh air outside the elder's den. The drizzle that morning had helped keep the temperatures from getting too unbearable that day and he was going to enjoy what he could. His ears twitched as he listened to Murkkit frolicking about before Palestar called the clan together, but he didn't really move. He was a blind warrior, after all. Not like he was ever going to get to go to the Gathering again. His ears twitched again as he heard his clanmates beginning to gather and waited to see if Redkit or Dazzlekit might try sneaking up on him again.

FLUTTERDREAM

The tortoiseshell medicine cat made her way out of her den, giving her clanmates a quick glace. She had no doubt she would be going to the gathering, but was curious as to who Palestar would take to the gathering this time around. She made her way over to a couple of the elders, to Hickorystorm in particular. 'You know, I could talk to Palestar and have you come to one of the gatherings again one day. I can act as a guide for you, so there will be no need to worry about not being able to see. I'm sure the other medicine cats will be fine not seeing me at every gathering. You deserve to experience gatherings as much as any other warrior and elder do, but, it's up to you. If you decline I won't mind, just wondering if it's something you are interested in' she offered, taking her seat next to him. She really didn't mind what he picked, as long as he was satisfied where he was. She had failed him once all those moons ago when he lost his sight, and she would do her best to make it up to him. 

As Flutterdream chatted to Hickorystorm, she was soon interrupted by Hollyclaw. Of course a warrior would think something like that. 'Hollyclaw. I am a healer, I represent ShadowClan in many ways, but not in ways that you might think. If I miss a gathering, it simply tells the other clans I am caring for the sick, and if I choose not to greet the other medicine cats, it indicates that maybe I have more important things to attend to rather than simple gossip. We meet every quarter moon. I represent the clan at that meeting, and every time I take care of our injured. Gatherings mean little to me, other than the connection of clans' she said softly, though there was a little ice to her tone. Flutterdream was usually a very open and relaxed cat, but she didn't like it when others challenged her choices, especially warriors. 

Heronsong picked at the remains of her mouse meal, which she had scrutizined the insides of before even biting fully into it. Ever since the news came back from the last gathering that the prey was causing deaths, she hadn't been able to eat without a nagging worry. She was certain the mouse had had nothing odd in it, but...

Luckily Palestar's call jerked her out of her thoughts. She quickly got to her paws, buried the remaining bones and leftovers, and hurried over to the other cats. Perhaps going to the gathering would be a blessing, something to keep her mind occupied.

Flutterdream simply let out a quiet sigh and nodded her head. Sometimes there was no getting into the heads of warriors, and she just had to accept they saw things differently. It hurt a little to disagree with Hollyclaw. They had been born so close together that she sometimes felt like a sister more than a clanmate, but they had chosen their paths, and that meant separate views and feelings. They might disagree, but it never caused a fight. Flutterdream held mutual respect for Hollyclaw, and she was even a senior warrior now, worthy of respect despite their shared past. Watching as she left, Flutterdream let her bushy tail flop to the ground and she closed her eyes, focusing on the now, rather than overthinking whatever just happened. 

Sootpaw:

Sootpaw arrived back in camp in time to hear that he was in fact, not going to the gathering. Unsurprising - but that meant he got to go out on a night patrol! He hopped over to Emberdust and headbutted them. "Let me know how it goes! If there is any tasty news, you gotta tell me! Okay?"

Maybe he would be able to slip away to the Thunderpath. He had been thinking about the other apprentices ever since that one day he encountered Brindlepaw - what was their training like? He wanted to try it out! He wanted to learn more that anyone ever had. Was it against the code to trespass on the night of the gathering? He wasn't gonna do anything bad! Just... explore - the clans all mingled at the Fourtrees anyways. Why was his wanderings any different?

Redkit:

The moss in the nursery called Redkit's name, and he had long slunk into its soft, plush embrace. But with the calling of a gathering, he cracked an eye open to at least hear what his aunt had to say. A gathering - that he wasn't allowed to go to, no matter how much he asked of pleaded. Murkkit had gotten to go! It was so unfair.
