Open to Join Plot Thread Bouncing Clouds [SC Warrior Ceremony]

Brackenwing’s ear twitches when the Leader announces loudly at the talking spot. Being only near the camp entrance, they take a quicken padding over where the meeting will be at. Eager of hearing what Palestar will be sharing - possibly important right? Cause it seemed so. 
The feline settles in their chosen spot, sitting down with its tail curling towards their body. Glancing at Palestar with a respectful nod and then turn its head couple times. Left and right, with wonder of who’s also gonna arrive for this special meeting. 

Specklenose padded over after hearing Palestar's call, Pebbleshine walking beside him. They had been having a lazy afternoon within the elders den when Palestar's call roused the two felines. Pebbleshine halted her kit not to far from the nursery, telling him she wanted to sit at the back. Specklenose glanced over to where he assumed some of his friends were sitting with a pained look before nodding, brushing away some dust with his plumed tail to make room for him and his mother. 

Dazzlekit, eager as ever raced out from the nursery, almost running into Brackenwing, but he managed to skid to a stop before running into the brown mackerel cat. What was the announcement this time? Perhaps Ashpaw and Sootpaw were getting their names? Or maybe Dazzlekit and his brothers were getting to become apprentices early! He looked at Brackenwing with wide eyes, mumbling a sorry for nearly running into them before turning around, wondering if Redkit or Murkkit had heard their aunt's call. 

Flutterdream dream watched from a place not far from Palestar with a soft gaze as the clan gathered. This ceremony was a representation of a new time for ShadowClan. Their apprentices were graduating, and soon the kits would be apprentices. The clan was ever growing, and the tortoiseshell medicine cat felt ever growing pride for the group she saw as her family.

Heronsong settled herself down into the gathering crowd. Her amber eyes were brimming with curiosity as she watched Palestar, trying to take a guess at what the leader had to say. Nothing terribly odd had happened at the gathering, and there hadn't been much trouble otherwise lately. The grey cat's whiskers twitched--could this be good news?

Redkit:

Redkit trailed after his brothers, not reluctantly... well. He didn't want to be put on the spot in front of the whole clan! He wanted to be cool, and collected and definitely not shaking when it was his turn to be an apprentice. Still, Dazzlekit's energy was infectious and soon Redkit had jumped after his brother, attempting to get him to wrestle - almost forgetting about the announcement.

"Sorry Mam." He shot her a smile as she reminded them of why they were there, but didn't stop trying too antagonize his brother(s) into a tussle.

Sootpaw:

Sootpaw was, understandably, tired. He had been out on his own hunting and his long legs were coated up to the knee in mud. Traipsing back into camp with a few frogs in tow he barely heard the summons - too busy counting the fresh kill in the pile. There should be enough here for the elders, palestar, Clovershine... he tilted his head. He kept losing track of his count and having to start over.

His assessment had gone... well, it had certainly gone. He had passed the combat and hunting with grace - if he did say so himself. Unsurprisingly he had issues with the warrior code and other memorization. It wasn't like he didn't know them! It's just...

His mind flashed back to Larchpaw and Brindlepaw. He hadn't broken the code in his mind either of those times. Mercy and curiosity weren't crimes. He never meant to steal anything or remark borders or anything like that.

He was so caught up in his own thoughts that his gaze might as well been burning a hole in the frogs he was absently staring at.

Sootpaw was shaken out of his stare by his mentor's voice. At first he was going to ask 'why' - mostly out of habit but once his brain caught up with what was actually happening around him, he snapped his mouth shut.

Was he actually becoming a warrior? Now? HE WAS COVERED IN MUD! He blinked, trying to figure out if he should spend a moment cleaning himself or obey his mentor's summons before she decided to chance her mind.

After a moment of hesitation, Sootpaw hauled himself to his feet and trotted over to his mentor. He did try to shake off some of the dried grime as he approached but didn't bother to stop and completely clean himself. His clan-mates knew him - and his hunting style. If they were going to judge him for his appearance they certainly didn't know him well enough!

Glancing over the crowd he could see his Sire, his siblings all gathered around. His clanmates who had mentored him in their own right. He flashed Heronsong a smile - both to say 'look at me!' and 'AAAAA I'M COVERED IN MUD WHY DIDN'T ANYONE WARN ME?'.

Seating himself before his mentor, he met her gaze with smile. He liked Palestar - even with all that the two of them had been through. With her duties and his self-training, on top of his personality and her poise. Perhaps a more strict cat would chafe under a Leader's tutelage but Sootpaw genuinely still looked up to Palestar regardless of how different they were.

Sootpaw sat, and for once in his life seriously contemplated whether or not he could uphold this code. He enjoyed wandering. He liked to move about. The code had said he wasn't to wander far, but that was expressively because Starclan didn't want the borders getting muddled.And he wasn't going to steal anything, or hurt anyone unnecessarily. Perhaps... he could move away from other clan territory to explore. So he wouldn't break any rules.

After a long second of looking down, Sootpaw met his mentor's gaze. This did cost him his favourite part of exploring. But that was something he would have to accept. If he wanted a warrior name, and the responsibilities that went along with that he would have to change.

For once in his life, the young van tom was serious. "I do. I promise."
