"Let all cats old enough to catch thier own prey join here in the shelter of the briar patch for a clan meeting!"
Her voice misted in the cold, leafbare air as she addressed her clan from her usual spot. Her longhaired pelt offered her some graces during the cold season, but not everyone had such an advantage, nor the youth to get them to Fourtrees in this condition either. Her mind was more or less set, and after the graces given to the Elders last moon, she would go back to her usual routine.

Belly extended, Emberdust was already settled in the nursery. Her nest was lined with mouse fluff and moss, making hers one of the most comfortable afforded in ShadowClan - if all for the fact that she was expectant. Heavily so. Her ears swiveled with excitement at Palestar's call, and heaved herself up and padded towards the entrance. Just enough to see and hear Palestar more clearly... not like she would be called to the Gathering in her state. That was a bit disappointing.
Tiptoe through the murk and mire

The cold didn't seem to bother Duskpaw as he worked tirelessly to reenforce the briar wall. His paws ached by the end of it, but it was probably just a symptom of the leafbare chill. He woudln't let it hamper his ability to go the Fourtrees if he was called. Dark face set in a determined expression, he followed the gathering crowd and sat pointedly near Palestar.

Gathering time again, and Sootbounce was all over the place. The winter flurries were perfect for hunting in - but that didn't mean he enjoyed doing it! Especially with how frozen the swamps had become. Slowing his pace, he spotted Emberdust seated in the nursery and took a quick left to sit next to her.
"You feeling okay? Not to cold? Not to warm? I doubt warm with all the snow but you never know, kits are weird." He did run his mouth a lot but Ember should be used to him at this point. She did grow up watching him. His eyes flicked up to Palestar. "You think she would bring a queen to a gathering? I think Palestar is smarter than that... and maybe a kit would count for the total number of cats she could bring. Thats one less cat wandering around." Sootbounce didn't stop to consider how strange this conversation was as he flicked his tail absentmindedly.

A little mauve colored nose pushed it's way out of the warrior's den, navigating through the gathered and gathering cats to sit in her usual spot near to the briar patch after hearing her littermate's yowl for the meeting to begin. Clovershine walked past Emberdust and smiled lightly, glancing at her swollen belly for a moment. New kits were always an exciting thing, but she questioned who the sire might be. Though... that wasn't her place to go questioning.
The lynx point she-cat glanced up at her littermate, she hadn't attended a gathering in quiet a while and was curious as to who Palestar was going to decide to take, but chose not to say a word, she knew that Palestar would announce it when all the cats have gathered, there was no need to impatience.

Everyday was an anxious day for Specklenose. Emberdust could start kitting at any moment (not really, but it felt like it for Specklenose) and he wanted to know exactly when. If Palestar picked him for the gathering, he would ask to not go. They gave Emberdust all the space she needed, while stilll checking up on her every day. If she didn't like it, he was confident that she would tell them. The two were good with communication for the most part. He seated himself next to Emberdust, while giving Sootbounce a friendly glance. The young tom talked, a lot, but it was something Specklenose appreciated about him. He was a friendly face that the silvery feline was glad to see. Emberdust's belly was much much bigger now, and he couldn't help but prod it curiously, (and gently of course).

Pebbleshine had been watching Emberdust like a hawk, making sure she wasn't doing anything stupid that could harm the kits. It wasn't that she didn't trust her, but she was carrying her kin, her grandkits! She had every right to be cautious. She wouldn't bother the queen today though, and instead chose her spot near the elders den. Going to the gathering last moon was nice, but overly stressful, she likely wouldn't go again this moon.

Flutterdream was already amidst camp, her small nose stuck into the prey pile, looking for something decent to fill her belly. While it was still leafbare, most of it was over now. It had been a pleasant leafbare. No deadly illness or unsuspecting deaths. It almost shocked Flutterdream how calm everything had been, but ShadowClan was full of wonderful, strong cats who could fight there way through almost anything. She hadn't found anything to eat yet, but at the call of Palestar, she stopped what she was doing to respectfully listen, even though she already knew she was going.

Another moon, another gathering! Like he did all the time, the red mackerel tom scrambled away from whatever he was doing and placed himself at the very front of the crowd, looking up at Palestar eagerly. He really really really hoped he would get to to go this moon, with Clovershine too. He had a feeling that his mother was disappointed that she didn't get to go last time, but maybe they would get to go together this time!

Brackenwing is leaning on the side of the medicine den entrance, taking a good look outside of what is going on. When they knew it was about a gathering, the warrior took off padding over where the rest of their clanmates were at. Their body soreness has been noticeable yet they kept on taking slow pace to the direction still. They've chosen a seat far at the back, wrapping their tail closely to themselves, and their head would turn to focus on the leader. 'Must have it been moons since the last gathering huh...wonder if I could go to this gathering?' in their mind, the question makes the mackerel tabby wonder what's gonna be new at the Fourtrees. And the possibility there would be a chance they could go.
