It was a peaceful day in camp so far, Leopardrose was more than likely off doing one thing or another, she was a busy cat. Greypebbles knew that Leopardrose at least liked him, otherwise she wouldn't be tolerating him for this long and just leave him along like most oh his clanmates did... most, he thought with a look of indignation as his name was practically yowled across the camp... Larchpaw

Greypebbles tried his hardest to ignore her, angling his ears away from the sound of her voice, he wondered why Larchpaw was so infatuated with the idea of bothering him when he was just about to relax his muscles and be at peace in the camp. Though, if she had approached him with a quieter repour, he may have been able to humor her a little with a response. But as usual, Larchpaw had frightened him with a loud yowl.

In an attempt to tune out Larchpaw's words, he caught the words that he was her closest friend... though he knew that she wasn't his. Rather sad.. he thought to himself as he continued to allow Larhcpaw to ramble on, barely showing any acknowledgement that he had even heard her. "I'm well now, you have your sisters to bother don't you?" he meowed, his ears still angled slightly backward, his posture rather slouched, he would much rather sunbathe, he hadn't been put onto many patrols and the one he had been placed on was over now, so all he really wanted to do was relax. But it seemed Larchpaw had other plans.

 Greypebbles of course wasn't Larchpaw's closest friend, as they were merely more than clanmates, but that didn't stop her from treating him just as she would to a well known friend. 'They are out. Training and stuff. I'm bored Greypebbles, and you are the only one around at the moment. If you don't wanna go out, then I'm still going to stay here. I want someone to talk to and you were conveniently there, so no complaining!'

'I'm going to be moving to the warriors den soon, so I'll be around even more. Better get used to it while you can' she added with a wink, stifling a snicker. Her go to cat to hang out with was Bravesong, and sometimes her sister if they seemed in a good mood, but Greypebbles' unique attitude made for an interesting interaction.

'All I ever see is you alone, or you are with Leopardrose, it can't hurt to have a little talk with someone else for once. So, what have you been up to lately? Or do you just mope around all day because I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.'

"Interesting how you chose me of all cats" Greypebbles replied, his voice with a somewhat strained joy as he spot the words, in honesty, the grey tom would much rather go hunting by himself or hunting with Leopardrose, or even Bravesong, but that’s not what Larchpaw had in mind… clearly. "You’re almost a warrior and you still act like a kit Larchpaw, whining isn’t going to persuade me if that is what you were trying to do"

The little tom rose to his paws and stretched out his front paws, flexing his pin sharp claws and kneading at the earth for a moment before standing up to his full height, which was a little shorter than most cats, most cats including Larchpaw. "And what an interesting life that will be…" he replied, trying but failing to hide his disinterest, sure Larchpaw would be moving into the warriors’ den any day now but why would she have to mention that he would have to get used to her antics? He hoped and prayed to StarClan that his sleep and time of relaxation wouldn’t be bothered. 

"I’ll hunt with you." Greypebbles said with a hesitation in his tone, though he wanted to make it clear that Larchpaw was no more than a clanmate to him one way or another "I’m only ever with Leopardrose and Bravesong because they’re my only friends, I enjoy being alone just as much as I enjoy sharing tongues with them" he replied, giving his long pelt.a shake before standing a fair distance from Larchpaw, the last thing he wanted was to be caught in the midst of her senseless chattering.

 A flash of surprise flicked over Larchpaw's eyes as Greypebbles answered her less than kindly. Her whiskers twitched, but she ultimately seemed unaffected, still brimming with energy. 'If you think I'm acting like a kit, then you clearly haven't met one and that's just embarrassing. Gosh and you think I'm whining too? Clearly you weren't brought up very well. I could show you what actual whining sounds like, but I'll spare you the misery, as clearly I've riled you up enough already' she snickered. With how she was going, Greypebbles might turn into a badger soon!

Surprised that he actually agreed to hunt, Larchpaw let her pelt flatten down a little. Seemed like some part of her annoying attitude had worked. Perhaps it was just to get her to be quiet, but little did he know Larchpaw could talk alllll day if she really wanted too. She made her way out of camp, half leading the way but padding at a pace that would allowed Greypebbles to walk beside her if she wished. 'Do you... just, not like anyone else? I mean, my family can be a little over the top, but not everyone is that bad.' She weighed up her next words with more caution than usual, for she didn't want things to come off the wrong way. 'I think you should try put yourself out a little more. We all live together for StarClan's sake. We aren't here to torment you, just to support each other and make out clan proud, and make fun of you occasionally' she added quickly with a wink.

The idea to ignore Larchpaw was growing louder and louder in Greypebbles' mind at this point... and sometimes it came to the point where he had to in order to keep the calmness and peace in mind. He had only agreed to hunt because he could do less talking, that is why he hunted with anyone most days, it might be why he had grown quite good at it. So he would much rather just walk around and catch prey for the clan than actually hunt for a chat... in the case of Larchpaw anyway.

Before he could even focus on Larchpaw's words, he disappeared into the undergrowth, his small form hidden in the dark, thick greenery of ThunderClan's territory. So it was the path of ignorantly acting as if Larchpaw's words didn't make it to his ears in time for him to respond. And good riddance for that idea, though of course, Greypebbles would acknowledge Larchpaw when he thought that something she said was actually worth listening to, but for now, it just seemed like she was taking joy out of making fun of him, which he unsurprisingly didn't take too kindly to.

A sweet scent snapped Greypebbles from his thoughts, focusing on the appetizing scent, he dwindled the options down to something of a mouse of vole, perfect, something to keep his mouth full from speaking for at least a little while. The tom fell into a hunting crouch and kept his paws light against the ground as he crept closer to the scent, and he had been on point with the scent, a plump mouse. Perfect.

Greypebbles' eyes narrowed, locking onto the movements of the brown furred rodent as he padded closer to it. His muscled coiled up as he prepared to pounce, the thrill of the hunt making his heart flutter in his chest. With a swift and calculated pounce, he landed square on the back of the prey and sunk his teeth in, killing the small prey rather quickly. He then got back up, returning to where he had left Larchpaw, wordlessly standing beside her, that's how he liked it.

   Greypebbles did not even acknowledge her, simply walking away into the undergrowth. Larchpaw didn't follow, just standing there with an ocean of thoughts. What in StarClan's name was his problem? Larchpaw knew she was annoying, but she acted the same around everyone. She found it ironic that he had said that she was acting like a kit when he was acting even worse. She had seen him around others, and knew he was ignoring her because he didn't like her. To those he liked, he wouldn't treat this way, so what would Larchpaw do? Leave, obviously. With a snicker she turned around once Greypebbles headed off to hunt, beelinign towards camp. 'Gosh, even ShadowClan apprentices are better than you' she called out loudly, before ducking back into camp, holding in her laugh. In all honesty she missed Sootpaw. She loved ThunderClan dearly, but really it was only Bravesong who she felt like actually understood her. A ShadowClan apprentice on the other paw seemed to understand her better than anyone ever would, and it left Larchpaw utterly lost.
