It happened, it actually happened. Orchidflame was pregnant, after taking a visit to Tigerrush and Robinpaw, she had heard the words of the medicine cat, clear as a green-leaf sky. The fluffy she-cat could barely hide her glee, many cats had done this before her and now it was her time to follow in the pawsteps of those before her. She had picked up a thrush from the fresh kill pile before deciding to go on a walk; she had seen Bravesong leave the camp, likely for the same reason. Perhaps she would meet him here, he could be the first to know beside the medicine cat and her apprentice. Well… unless Tigerrush had told Moosestar already.

But it was just after Sunhigh now, she had been to the medicine den that morning, so enough time had passed for her to think, she wanted them, the kits. She was just glad to get the chance to experience this with a piece of the cat she had always wanted it to be.

The clear rush of the stream rippled in her ears as she turned to face it, a smile on her face when she remembered Bravesong’s interactions with her here, from a few moons ago to back when they were apprentices. She purred at the memories as she placed down the thrush, laying on her side to better account for growing belly and slowly began to pluck at the spotted feathers.

Placing some feathers to the side, she hoped that Bravesong would have a feeling she might be here. She wanted to tell him in a place that meant something, a place that held a beauty that laid beyond appearance. Their place.
