It was an extremely cold day. There had been a hailstorm in the early morning, followed by periodic snowfall. Bayflower didn't really even understand why their paws lead them to the RiverClan border over and over again. Perhaps it was because a certain white-furred molly helped him forget about Aspenberry or perhaps in another life he had been a RiverClanner. His name was Bayflower, after all. Standing at the border, the tom looked over at RiverClan. If only he and Cottonbright had set a day for their swimming lesson. Maybe something like “Ten days after the river had thawed.” But no they hadn’t thought of that at the time.

Goosesong had felt that Stormpaw's training had finished for the day and sent her back off to camp for the rest of the day to herself and her littermates. It had been a while since Goosesong really had a walk by himself without it being interrupted by one thing or another, and it had been a short while since he had begun his stroll around the territory.
But as he reached the gorge, Goosesong was quick to notice a familiar, black-furred warrior teetering a little close to their border by the gorge and flicked his ears. The warrior had yet to take a step on or over the border so Goosesong felt no need to be accusatory, and it wasn't as if he could accidentally chase a hare over the gorge like that Leopardrose had done. So there would be another reason why Bayflower was there, whether he knew why or not.
"Waiting for someone again, Bayflower?" Goosesong's voice came with his regular even fruition, however this time he gave a flick of his tail as if greeting a companion of his, or at least a compatriot of some sort. "Or is this border just your favorite place to come sight-seeing?" he asked, his tone unchanging but the raise in one of his brows betrayed a joking look in his aqua eyes.
