Open to Join During The Dazzling Red Dusk [Apprentice Ceremony]

Even in the darkest shadows, there is always a glimmer of light. We just have to look for it.

Clovershine perked up at her littermate's call as it rang out through the camp. She knew what this meeting was, Palestar has told her of it and has told her of her decision for herself to mentor one of her kittens. It left her wondering which but whatever kitten it was, she was more than excited to mentor her kits. she turned her head to her kits, they were getting much to large for the nursery now. A soft smiled tugged at the corners of her lips as she called for her kittens. "Come Murkkit, Redkit, Dazzlekit" She called as she limped out of the nursery, turning her head to face her kits for a moment as she paused.

"This meeting involves you three so I wouldn't want to walk like my paws are made of stone" She purred cheerfully as she led her kittens to the main clearing, giving each of them a good cleaning before she sat at the edge of the clearing. Watching as her brood frolicked into the clearing. 

Clovershine shot Palestar a softened glance, pride glistening in her eyes, this was more of an achievement to her than she originally anticipated, her kits survived for long enough to become apprentices, some queens couldn't say the same for their own broods, but she had high hopes for her kittens. She puffed out her chest and rose her chin and cast a sideward glance to her kits. "Straighten yourself kits, you don't want to slouch when you're becoming apprentices"

Dazzlekit scrambled after Clovershine, now in the awkward adolescent stage where he is growing larger, bit still retains youthful appearance, with a few tufts of kitten fluff. He looked like a mess, ungroomed with tufts of fur everywhere from having wrested with his siblings. Appearance was Dazzlekit's last concern though, for when he heard the word 'apprentice', he literally felt like he was about to explode. Finally it was the day! He muffled a squeak of excitement before sitting down, puffing out his chest. He couldn't sit still though, visibly shaking with excitement as he kneaded the ground with his paws. 

Tiptoe through the murk and mire

  Murkkit padded from beside Clovershine, his steps more measured, if not quickened. The cool leaf-bare breeze ruffled his mid-length smoke-blue fur, but he ignored it, his sharp cornflower blue eyes focused on the gathering cats. This was the moment he'd been waiting for - the first real step toward becoming a warrior. His ears twitched at Clovershine’s instruction, and he rolled his shoulders back, straightening his posture as she suggested. He would not slouch, not now, not when every eye in ShadowClan would soon be on him.

He glanced sideways at Dazzlekit, who looked like he was ready to burst with excitement. Murkkit’s expression remained composed, though there was a flicker of amusement in his gaze. Let him fidget, he thought. I’ll keep my focus.

He took a deep breath, feeling the cold air sharpen his senses. His heart raced at the thought of being mentored by a strong, skilled warrior - someone who would see his potential and guide him to greatness. As they approached the clearing, Murkkit stood taller, his gaze flicking between the warriors in attendance and Palestar herself. Soon.

Palestar’s gaze swept over the gathered cats, her heterochromatic eyes gleaming with the weight of the moment. She held herself with the calm authority of a leader who seemingly knew the importance of every step in her Clan’s future.

“We are here today to give three kits their apprentice names.” Her voice was clear and steady against the cold air. “Come forward, Dazzlekit, Redkit, and Murkkit.”

At her invitation, Murkkit started forward, his silvery-blue fur sleek and carefully groomed, his expression steady and observant, though his blue eyes flickered with anticipation. He was a might taller than the other kits, his awkward proportions giving him a distinctness over his adopted siblings.

"Heronsong, you will be mentor to Duskpaw. Heronsong, You are loyal and thoughtful. Pass on all you can to this young apprentice.” Newly named Duskpaw waited to touch noses with his new mentor, eyes alight.

Pleased with Heronsong's approach and their exchange, Palestar continued. "Clovershine, you will be mentor to Dazzlepaw. You are empathetic and honest. Pass all you can to this young apprentice."

Next, Palestar shifted her focus to Redkit, her voice taking on a more personal tone. “Redkit, you will be known as Redpaw. And I will be your mentor.”

She had chosen Redpaw herself, knowing that this apprentice might need a leader's guidance. Stepping forward, she touched her nose to Redpaw’s with quiet resolve and perhaps a small smile.

Palestar stepped back, her heart steady as she inhaled deeply of the cooling breeze. "That is it for ceremonies today. You are all dismissed."

As Clovershine heard her name, her ears perked up. This was her moment, she was finally going to get an apprentice after all of these moons, What and honor it would be to finally mentor one of her kittens. She wondered who it would be... it could be any of her brood, well, aside from Duskpaw of course. 

Dazzlepaw? Clovershine glanced over at the bright red tabby for a moment before she beamed and erupted into a loud purr. Dazzlepaw! Clovershine practically leaped from her place she had picked in the clearing to bound over to Dazzlepaw. Her eyes softened as she pressed her pink nose to her son's, no.. her apprentice's! she could not find bigger honor if she tried, she would have to give so many thanks to Palestar when she got the chance, but right now, her focus was on Dazzlepaw and her kits.

"You will do well Dazzlepaw, I proud of you" Clovershine purred, her tone no more than a whisper before lifting her head, turning to her other kits, Duskpaw and Redpaw. "I proud of all of my kits" She meowed, sometimes she forgot that Duskpaw was her direct kin, or her kin at all, but she loved him regardless, she loved him like her own, he was her own, as were Dazzlepaw and Redpaw, there was nothing Clovershine found more fulfilling than this, she just hoped she would make it to see their warrior ceremonies as well. But she wouldn't dwell on that, it was her sons' day, not hers.

Clovershine found her place next to Heronsong and flicked her tail for Dazzlepaw to follow. She sad comfortably next to the grew she-cat and smiled gently "I would love to join you and Duskpaw with training, we will be safer as a group" she offered the grey she-cat

Did he hear that right? Clovershine was going to be his mentor?! The young tom glanced over to his mother before running over to her, pressing his pink nose a little harder than he intended to onto hers. He was still buzzing with excitement, eyes shining. Maybe he had wanted Palestar or Emberdust before, but Clovershine was his mentor now, and Dazzlepaw couldn't be happier!

He circled around his mother eagerly one the ceremony was dismissed, ready to do something already. 'What are we going to do today? Can we go out pleaseeeee. Lets do some fighting practise.' It seemed as though Dazzlepaw couldn't care less that night had nearly risen.
