Fawnstar had just finished a morning hunting patrol, having taken Shadesleek and Oatpaw out with her. They had been quite successful- she and Shadesleek had shown the young apprentice how to pair up to catch a rabbit. So they had added a young rabbit, a chipmunk and a mouse to the fresh-kill pile and she had taken the chipmunk to enjoy for breakfast.
Having finished her meal, Fawnstar licked the last scraps from her whiskers and washed her face as the sun warmed her chocolate tortoiseshell pelt. The sun was shining brightly and there were no clouds in the sky. A good sign from Starclan that today was the right day for this.
As she padded up to the Talking Cliff, she felt confident and content with what she had decided for this. She had already talked to the cats that she had chosen and had made the arrangements needed. Now all that was left was to get everything in place.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey meet beneath the Talking Cliff for a clan meeting!"
Boulderdash had been asleep, having guarded the camp all night, and started awake when she heard Fawnstar's call for a clan meeting. Noticing that it was sunhigh, she groggily got to her paws and made her way out to blink in the sunshine. It would have been nice to get a bit more sleep, but she also knew it was about time for her to get up and see about getting some more chores done around camp.
Oatpaw had just taken take the young rabbit his hunting patrol had caught that morning to Aspenberry in the nursery. With four kits and herself, he figured it would feed them all since he remembered almost always being hungry at that age, the majority of energy and appetite going into growing. Ugh, if he had known Fawnstar was going to summon the clan, he'd have just left it at the entrance so they could eat in the sunshine and not have to drag it back out to do so.
Brightmaple had her eyes closed and was sunning herself in a patch of sun in front of the elder's den, the warmth easing the ache she had been feeling in her bones and joints. Golden eyes blinked open and folded ears perked as she watched to see what the meeting was about.

Today was the day! Berrykit had already seen the ceremony before and that was the warrior ceremony for the newest of the warriors. He shuffled to the edge of the nursery, tail twitching with excitement as Oatpaw came in and out, surely he'd be joining him in the nursery soon.
Before even hearing Beewhisker or Fawnstar call for him, he made his choice to shuffle out of the nursery and into the vast camp. While his paws seemed smaller now that he had grown into them a little, it seemed he still kept that clumsy charm he always seemed to have follow him. Hopefully that doesn't follow him forever, he couldn't bare to see a missed catch because of his big silly paws.
Berrykit took a few glances around him as if trying to figure out which cat would be his mentor, Cloudflare? Boulderdash? Smallclaw? Maybe Basilflame, she seemed excited to be at the meeting today. Though he would certainly have to help her with her passiveness... maybe.
I’d rather bear the weight of others than let others carry pain alone.

Basilflame was already in the clearing when Fawnstar sounded the call to gather. She hadn't exactly hidden her excitement about this meeting, especially since Fawnstar had brought her to the side to explain she would get an apprentice. She could hardly keep herself from loudly purring while waiting for Berrykit and Cedarkit to move out of the nursery.
"You did good, Beewhisker" Basilflame spoke, glancing over the the entrance where Beewhisker was giving their kits a final once over before they trampled over any unsuspecting leaves on their way to the clearing.
There would only be Aspenberry in the nursery after this ceremony... maybe a visit might help, Basilflame thought to herself before returning her hazel gaze toward the WindClan leader, she hoped Sunbear would be watching, she hoped her dame was proud of her.
Real strength isn't just in fighting, it's knowing when to stand firm and when to lend a paw.

Here they were, sitting at the entrance to the nursery cleaning the fur of their beloved kits before it would be time to present themselves to the clan. They had already given Berrykit a few once overs and was working on Cedarkit, though not for long as Fawnstar yowled the meeting call.
They let out a purr and released Cedarkit from their paws pressing her nose to her kit's before nudging her forward, "Go on then, it's your day"
