The light the fell into the warriors' den gleamed onto Basilflame's creamy toned fur as she took time cleaning up her long fur, she had previously finished todays training with Cedarpaw in the morning, so she had sent her apprentice off to do what she wished... within reason. Knowing Cedarpaw she was likely to visit Bayflower, Beewhisker or Berrypaw to tell them about what she would have learned.

But not long after she finished cleaning up her paws, a shape cast a shadow into the den and Basilflame perked her ginger ears. Her hazel eyes followed the shadow to her previous apprentice and a smile curved the corners of her mouth as she flicked her tail in greeting "Good afternoon, Petalsnap!" She purred, lifting up her form and leaning into a stretch before lifting herself back up to face her former apprentice.

At her offer, Basilflame gave a nod, her tail curling over her back to show her interest, perhaps eagerness, It would be nice to get out on a nice day like this for a while. "It's certainly the day for it isn't it?" Basilflame trilled before taking a few steps toward the opening of the den, however she turned to see if any of the other warriors that took their places in their dens would like to come along with them.

"Maybe not when it rains." Basilflame argued, however there was little snapping in her tone, more-a-less an observation rather than anything criticising. "But even then, I think it is beautiful." She smiled as the presence warmed her heart. "If nobody else feels like coming along, I'd be happy to be the one that keeps you company." she nodded, slipping out of the warriors den, lifting her head for a moment.

Shutting her eyes, she was one to savor the feeling of warmth that the sun soaked on her fur. "But I agree, it's a perfect day to hunt. Not too damp that prey will hide to find somewhere dry, not too hot that they'd seek cooler temperatures in their dens. You certainly did pick a good day, Petalsnap." she praised, and was brought back, just for a moment, to the days when she was training the young warrior, she passed her into the main clearing of the camp, then glanced up with an encouraging nod.

Basilflame waited for her clanmate at the base of the talking cliff, this was where she trained for battle, at least the lighter training. A soft smile curled her muzzle. However, before Basilflame lost herself in nostalgia, she shook the thoughts, as sweet as they were, from her mind before turning her gaze to the entrance and exit of WindClan's camp. "Is there anything you need before we leave?" She asked, twitching the tip of her red tail, in the light, it almost looked like a wild flame caught that caught light. But when still it settled. "Maybe you could even show me a thing or two."

At Petalsnap's embarrassment, Basilflame's expression softened, the smile that curled her lips lowering into something softer, still a smile, just... gentler. "I don't think there would be. Not right now." She answered, her voice carrying a sense of peace that always seemed to follow her around. "I'm sure we will eye some beautiful blooms this Green-Leaf, maybe something worth decorating your nest with." Basilflame added, stretching out her back legs one after the other. 

The flame point she-cat's hazel eyes moved to her apprentice as she turned away in embarrassment still. "C'mon, I'm sure the Steppe will take you mind off of the praise for a bit." She trilled, angling her ears forward to check the sounds as she usually did before leaving camp.

When all seemed fine, Basilflame slipped from the camp entrance, the fiery plume of her tail disappearing last as she slipped out of the WindClan camp. Prepared for another day to recall fondly in future. However, Basilflame failed to find a day that wasn't like that with her clanmates. Every day was an opportunity, and not one would be missed.

Basilflame felt the same warm breeze cocooning her like she was just about ready to emerge from the winds to let her fur flow so freely that it seemed natural for her. But regardless of her wishes, she was prevy to the scent of the rabbit as well and nodded to Petalsnap, in response, her gaze following the rabbit. From its behavior, it didn't see or smell either of them, good, that will make this much easier.

"I'll let you send it my way." She confirmed before slipping down into the tall grass, folding quite easily into her hunting crouch as she had done many seasons before and would do for many seasons more... she hoped anyway.

She eyed the rabbit with narrowed eyes, she had trusted that Petalsnap could do this on her own now, after all she had graduated what seemed too long ago now and Basilflame's knowledge was now being passed down onto another cat, strange that... how time passed so quickly.

Basilflame's hind paws coiled and tail raised ready for a pounce, her paws were light despite the mass of fur that adorned her mostly light pelt. Yet, she remained still, lest she scare of the prey her former apprentice had so adequately set up for the two of them.

"On your que, Petalsnap."

In silence, Basilflame waited for a signal to pounce, her hazel eyes stayed fixed on the prey as it chewed dutifully on a stalk of grass. She focused on how it moved, how fat it was and the strength of its legs, it had fattened itself up on Green-Leaf grass, so it would be slower as a result. Basilflame then nodded, preparing for Petalsnap's signal.

It was when the rabbit's foot thumped loudly against the earth that Basilflame was on the move, her paws moved quickly as the rabbit was sent towards her and her body lunged forward with strong leg muscles and core strength from moons of warriorhood. This rabbit was thier's and there was little to interrupt the strike now.

With teeth bared and claws extended, Basilflame snapped her teeth around the rabbit's neck, slamming her teeth down hard enough to do the job she needed done. The rabbit was limp quickly with little time to squeal a warning and when Basilflame let go of the fat prey, she didn't feel the least bit tired, it was all in a day's work, after all.

"That was well executed, Petalsnap." She purred as she allowed her tongue to smooth out her chest fur before examining the rabbit, it's breathing had stopped completely and it laid limp on the grass in front of her "I'm sure Cloudflare or the elders will make fine work of it." She purred proudly as she used the grass to cover the prey. "Shall we keep this here and look for something else? Or would you be happy taking this catch back to camp now?"
