Raven was laying in her cat tree, feeling bored and lonely. The molly’s older brother figure, Noah, was in a world of his own, snoozing away like he didn’t have a care in the world. With one last glance at him, she sighed, jumping off her cat tree and over the fence, starting to pad around Whitehart. She once more let her paws take her wherever they lead her. The last time, it had led her to a pretty cat named Sarafina so maybe they would lead her to find more friends. Or maybe she’d meet Sarafina again. Only time could tell.

For a slight change of pace, Morgan decided to take a different route around town. With their guardian relaxing at home, Morgan didn't have to be at the mortuary or cemetery or attend anyone today.

They could stroll at their leisure and stroll they did, wearing nothing more than their studded collar and the fluff-trimmed, sky blue garment their human had put on them before letting them out of the house. The small cape only covered part of their back and sides. It didn't drag by their paws or on the ground, but it worked well to get humans' attention, especially when Morgan crossed streets.

The marbled tabby darted across the bare stone and was glad when their paws touched grass again. As they began to sniffed around at a nearby bush, they noticed a smaller black cat.

Oh! I'm not the ony one out today, Morgan thought, then politely meowed, "Good day."

Raven noticed Morgan, the little kitten's initial reactions being surprise and curiosity. Well, she wasn't that small of a kitten anymore. She was eight months now. Much larger compared to what she had been originally when her current housefly found her and her littermates at a tiny one-month old. This feline in front of her didn't look mean so the Molly decided to respond politely. "Um. Good day." Raven meowed, looking up at Morgan. Raven wasn't sure what it was about this tom standing in front of her but he seemed kinda special in some way. A different kind of special from Sarafina. "Who are you?"

"I'm called Morgan," Morgan replied. "I live near here. Around... that way." While looking back over their shoulder, they indicated the direction of their house with their tail. "I'm often at the graveyard too," they continued, looking at the other cat again, "and other places."

Morgan tilted their head slightly in curiosity. "Have you lived here long?" they asked.

Morgan. Raven would remember that name. Maybe she and this tom could be friends! When he indicated the direction of his house, her eyes followed his before she nodded slowly. "Graveyard? What's a graveyard?" the kitten questioned but decided to answer his question before he had to answer hers. "Nope... I haven't been here for that long at all." Raven couldn't remember the exact amount of time she had been here but it definitely wasn't more than three seasons. Taking a closer look at Morgan, Raven saw that the tom had nice eyes. They gold with light green around their irises. How pretty.

"Ah, I see," Morgan meowed. "Welcome then."

They wondered how much the other knew about the town yet. Morgan didn't consider themself anything of expert on the whole of Whitehart, but they could speak accurately of the graveyard and its area.

"A graveyard is a place where the dead are laid to rest," Morgan explained. "It's a yard of graves, as the name suggests, and there are many stones sticking up from the ground to tell you where someone is buried. The one I watch at has dwellings and a big fence all the way around it too. Lots of beings visit. Humans, cats, crows, ravens, squirrels, and sometimes dogs. It's very peaceful."

Usually, their inner self added. Usually very peaceful in the yard at least. The streets were another matter, especially for the squirrels.

"I haven't been here for very long either," the tabby continued, "but I'm greatly enjoying my stay, as is my grandmother."
