Leopardrose moved with her usual easy precision through the ferns. Brindlespice’s barbs from earlier hadn't completely been ignored, although she still pretended they hadn't landed anywhere near her. She was good at pretending.
When Kestralswipe called out the morning patrols she'd caught Greypebbles’ name just after hers. Seemed her milk-sibling had taken her suggestion. It gave her an excuse to be seen with Greypebbles without suspicion.
Now the forest grew thinner as Snakerocks came into view. She could smell the Thunderpath beyond although her eyes were cast to the rocks ahead. "The heat draws prey out early. We'll circle toward the path after." She slowed just a little, letting him come even with her.
"...How did you sleep last night?" She gave the tom a small, quiet opening.

Greypebbles had been chosen to go on a patrol with Leopardrose, no other cat was openly stated to go with them. He would usually be relieved but today, and ever since these murders had begun happening, since Leopardrose had changed... he knew it was her way of coping, but it seemed to worry him more than easing his mind.
"Uh, yeah. I suppose I did, not worse than normal." He replied, his bobbed tail flicking timidly as he caught up to her, brows furrowed with thought but he didn't address whatever thoughts bloomed in the back of his mind. If Kestrelswipe wanted the two to hunt, then hunt they will.
He glanced around, his eyes focused but worried, as if the rogue would jump out at them at any moment. Even if she did, he'd put himself first, he was tired of running from the fights he was meant to face, he'd done that enough. "How is that bruise going?" He asked quietly, his voice somewhat strained with worries that he held deep in his chest.
