Nightwhisper wasn't quite sure if Dawnflurry liked her a little extra today, but she was placed on a patrol with two of the cats she seemed to get along best with, Quietmarsh and Duskmantle. Two cats she tended to talk twice as much to make up for. Would she need to talk... thrice as much? She didn't know but she lead the patrol forward into the heathlands. Just as directed.
The whipping winds of yesterday and the Thunderstorm last night caused the ground to be damp and... overall unpleasant to walk on but Nightwhisper didn't care all that much for the objective state of the ground beneath her paws, just as long as it was sturdy enough to place her paws on it, it didn't matter much to her.
But just as she was about to start up a conversation, her green eyes quickly caught something in the distance, it almost glowed in the sunlight and it was brightly colored and... fuzzy? Some twoleg thing that Nightwhisper hadn't seen before and it mystified her. "Guys, look!" She chirped before padding over to it with confidence, curled ears perked with interest.
"I think it blew in from carrionplace." She spoke after one sniff gave her the answer she needed. "What do you guys think, it's brighter than anything I've ever seen."

Duskmantle's ears perked at Nightwhisper's redirection as they patrolled the Heathlands towards a strange splash of color against the muted green and brown of the heath. It seemed theroughly out of place and the tom padded slowly towards her.
He made a confirming grunt and followed after her, not quite striding up to it...but neither did he hesitate. Instead he circled a few paces away, nose working carefully at the air before drawing closer once he determined it was strange...but harmless. "Not any color I've seen before...brighter than a songbird." Didn't entirely smell like crowfood yet, but it was close.
He prodded the fuzzy thing as it gave way beneath the plush. "It's soft like mousefluff...or downy feathers. Maybe it is some odd bird." He didn't seem very convinced and glanced between Nightwhisper and Quietmarsh.
Duskmantle glanced between Nightwhisper and Quietmarsh, his expression settling into one of quiet suspicion. "If it suddenly springs to life I'll be the first to laugh." The corners of his maw turned in a developing smile, tail flicking.
