Rimekit was bored...

She’d already pounced on a a stink beetle three times before it decided it wanted no part in her games and scurried off under a root. Huffing, she flopped onto her side, rolling onto her back with her paws in the air as she stared at the nursery ceiling.

Then, her ears twitched.

Something rustled, just a little. Rimekit rolled back onto her belly, eyes flickering toward one of the darker corners of the nursery, where - Oh. Robinkit...

Rimekit's ears perked as she spotted her denmate fussing over her nest, nudging tiny bits of bark into place like it was some big important warrior duty. And, okay, maybe Rimekit didn’t totally get why she cared so much about a bunch of old leaves and sticks, but - well. She was here. And Rimekit was bored.

With a devilish grin, she slunk closer, tail flicking behind her. "Whatcha doin’?" She asked, plopping down beside Robinkit's nest with all the grace of a toppled tree. Her bright mismatched eyes gleamed with barely contained mischief. "You act like you’re buildin’ somethin' special..."

Her paw twitched. So many tiny things. So many just… sitting there. She poked at a piece of bark experimentally, waiting to see what Robinkit would do.

I may be small, but I’m braver than I look.

"I'm fixin' my nest" Robinkit replied to her denmate's first question without really looking at her, though there was a slight flinch when Rimekit nudged one of the pieces of bark so suddenly with her paw before, quite promptly, putting it back in the correct position it was in. "What is special to me isn't to you" Robinkit added as she sniffed one of the flowers. It wasn't at it's best so she placed it at Rimekit's paws.

"You can keep that one" Robinkit stated, twitching the tip of her dappled tail in a strange sense of concentration. "If you want something else you can ask me, but you can't have any real herbs, I don't got any of those" she added, though she didn't sound like she wanted any real herbs in her nest, that would mean that the other cats that need them couldn't have them, she wanted all the cats in ThunderClan to be as healthy as they can be.

Robinkit took notice of Rimekit's seemingly everlasting boredom and let out a sigh, she didn't really like how Rimekit and Finchkit played but maybe she could learn to play like them, maybe then Rimekit would stop thinking she's boring, and Robinkit would not have the finest idea where Finchkit was, so she didn't really have much option. "Do you wanna play somethin?"

Rimekit watched Robinkit fuss over her nest with a wrinkled nose, mismatched eyes flicking between the carefully placed bits of bark and the flower now sitting at her paws. She prodded the wilted petals lightly, unimpressed.

"Just fixin' it? Looks like you're doin' a whole lot more than that."

She barely resisted the urge to swipe at another piece of bark, especially after Robinkit flinched, but she did let out a huff when her denmate shot down the idea of real herbs. "Pffft. Well, why don't you got any? If you want a proper nest, shouldn’t it have real stuff in it?"

And just like that, a brilliant idea sparked in her mind.

Rimekit’s tail flicked excitedly, and she leaned in close, dropping her voice to an excited whisper. "Hey, y’know what would make your nest really good? Real herbs... From the medicine den."

The little silvery kit continued. "Those smell way better than flowers, and I bet they’re way softer, too! And we can grab just a little bit - just enough - so no one’ll even notice!"

"Chewing off my own paw sounds more helpful for my nest then stealing from cats that might need the herbs" Robinkit said, firmly but not harshly, simply trying to get her opinion across. She knew decorating her nest with her paw was entirely hypothetical and would only cause terror in her denmates, but she would rather do that than steal precious resources, that would be like stealing prey from the fresh kill pile.

Robinkit then turned to a fresher pile of flowers and gained an idea, whether it was a perfect distraction or not was up to the result, but it was worth a shot, and keeping Rimekit occupied was worth a couple of flowers. "What about we can try to keep the flowers in the air without biting them, just usin' our paws" she suggested pulling the pretty flowers to the edge of her nest, one was a beautiful golden color, the other was somewhat of a blue-ish shade, both seemed equally average though.

"We can start with one and then I could throw the second one in when it gets too easy" Robinkit proposed, she had no idea if this would even work or not, but anything was better than blatantly stealing from the medicine cat, anything. "It will make you a lot less bored, even if it's temporary"

Rimekit wrinkled her nose at Robinkit's response, flicking an ear in mild annoyance. "Chewing off your own paw? That's a bit dramatic..." The fiesty she-kit wasn't impressed. But even she could tell Robinkit wasn't budging. The caliby she-kit had that firm tone and perhaps arguing wouldn't exactly get what she wanted...

Herbs would’ve made the nest better. She was about to grumble about how it wasn’t really stealing when Robinkit suddenly switched tactics, drawing attention to a little pile of flowers. Rimekit blinked at them, then at her denmate... suspicious. This couldn't be anything more than a distraction to keep her from doing what she really wanted to do.

"Keepin’ ‘em in the air, huh?" She mused, mismatched eyes flicking between the golden and bluish flowers. The offer wasn't much different from moss ball fighting and she knew Robinkit would make for a wimpy fox... so a flower offering to test her dexterity was interesting enough for now.

Rimekit sat up, swiping a paw through the air experimentally. "Alright, fine...but if I win, we gotta find something cooler to put in your nest. Now throw it!"
