The early morning sun filtered through the nursery’s woven brambles, casting soft, dappled light across the bedding. Robinkit stirred from her nest, her small frame curled tightly beside her littermate. She blinked slowly, trying to shake the lingering sleep from her eyes, but something felt off. The chill in the air had settled deep into her bones, making the moss beneath her feel colder than usual. A strange tickling sensation ran down the back of her throat, adding to her unease.
A soft sniffle escaped her nose as she lifted her head, her breath catching in her chest. She frowned slightly, confusion flickering in her near colorless eyes. Robinkit blinked again, trying to clear the fogginess, but the pressure in her head remained. The dryness in her throat intensified, making it harder to swallow. She shuffled forward on shaky paws, the cold air wrapping around her like a heavy blanket. As she reached for a drink from her mother's warm belly, a quiet, dry cough broke the silence, catching her by surprise. She paused, her ears flicking, but made no sound. Instead, she glanced around the nursery, her chest rising and falling faster than before, her breath visible in the crisp air.
Another cough rattled through her, this one a little louder. Robinkit instinctively pulled her tail around her body, trying to ward off the growing discomfort as her sniffles became more frequent. The coldness outside seemed to seep into the nursery, wrapping around her like a shadow. Her body trembled slightly, and she hunched down, hoping no one noticed. All she could do now was sit still and hope it passed, but as the chill deepened, a sense of unease lingered in the pit of her stomach.

Sunstrike had been enjoying the quiet of the nursery, and trying very hard to ignore her Aunt who now shared the space with her. So when Robinkit coughed weakly, she was up in an instant checking on her daughter with care fueled by both her anxious nature, love for her kin and the knowledge that of anything happened she would never hear the end of it.
"Oh, baby." She gently scooped Robinkit into her paws, both closer to her own body heat and away from her brother who - for the moment - seemed fine. "Here, let's get you to Tigerrush." She was familiar with the concept of Kittencough, but with the nursery being so empty she was unsure exactly what to do about it. And she certainly wasn't asking the older queen about it.
After a moment of hesitation, she picked up both Robinkit and Finchkit, who to her knowledge was still asleep before padding across the camp to the MC den. Once inside she made sure to speak to Tiger in a calm tone - explaining the situation with hushed words to both not disturb Finch too much, but also not panic Robin.
With the situation sorted, she gently coaxed Finch to the side and pulled him close, allowing Robinkit to be examined.
(OOC: I think Sunstrike would like both of the kits to be checked just in case, also feel free to RP around me as I won't be responding as much as I would like)

Tigerrush had been curled into a ball in her nest, sleeping contently. There were little herbs she could collect in the winter, and of what she could, she had already replaced and refreshed what she could. There were always grape leaves and mice to be gathered, but there couldn't be too much harvesting or there would be nothing for later.
So she made sure that what she had remained well-stocked and well-kept and kept an eye on her clanmates to make sure if there was illness, she could treat it as fast as she could before it spread. The only ones she didn't regularly see were the kits and the queens, but she trusted Sunstrike and Wildcry to let her know if something was up with either of them or with the kits.
The little brown tabby medicine cat may have been sleeping contently, but it didn't mean she was a heavy sleeper. When she heard some cat's paw steps approaching, her ears perked and eyes snapping open as she lifted her head. The cat's paw steps were heavy, which indicated s it was probably carrying something- or someone- Tigerrush couldn't be sure as she scented the air to see if she could catch the visitor's scent.
Standing, she arched her back and yawned before slipping from her nest, stretching each leg briefly in turn as she did so before moving into the main part of the den. She caught Sunstrike's scent moments before the queen appeared at the entrance with two small bundles in her mouth.
As she blinked the sleep from her green eyes, Tigerrush listened to the queen telling her about the soft coughs Robinkit had given. Thankfully, due to long practice, she resisted rolling her eyes at the queen's apprehension. The queen's anxiety always seemed to be her worst enemy- Kits coughed all the time, it didn't mean anything. However, with the weather getting chill, the medicine cat would make sure to soothe the queen's anxieties and tend to the kits as needed.
Approaching Robinkit, the first thing Tigerrush did was give a brief sniff from the top of the kit's head to the tip of her little tail, ear twitching as she caught a hint of something. Tilting her head slightly, she considered the kit with keen eyes, noting that appearance-wise, Robinkit seemed fine. Which meant she needed to delve a bit deeper.
"I am going to ask a few questions, Robinkit, so I have a better idea how to help you." She mewed gently, keeping her voice a gentle purr. The kit didn't need to be frightened of going to the medicine cat- not like her dame. "How do you feel? Do you think something is different with you today? If so, can you tell me what?"
I may be small, but I’m braver than I look.

Robinkit scrunched up her nose as she thought carefully about Tigerrush's questions. She shifted her small paws and sniffled a bit before answering, her voice sounding a little hoarse. "I feel... kinda funny. My throat... it’s itchy. And my nose... runny" she added, giving a tiny sniff to demonstrate. She looked up at Tigerrush with wide, slightly watery eyes, her expression full of confusion.
"The cough started before mama brought me 'ere, and I'm all... sniffly" she continued, a little cough escaping her as if to prove her point. "I don’t like it... feels all scratchy. And my chest... it’s kinda tight." Robinkit’s ears drooped slightly as she spoke, clearly uncomfortable but trying to be brave in front of her aunt.
The little kit leaned against Sunstrike for comfort, then looked back at Tigerrush, her small voice growing quieter. "Am I gonna be okay?" she asked, a hint of worry creeping into her words as she fidgeted with her paws. Though, after her question, a dry hacking cough forced its way out of Robinkit's throat, she didn't like this, her chest felt tight and sore and her nose stuffy, it didn't feel nice, and she wanted it to stop, but knew it probably wasn't that easy. So she wanted Tigerrush to take care of her, she had the experience right?

Tigerrush listened closely to what Robinkit told her, green eyes kind but keen, noting she indeed had a runny nose and apparently watery eyes. Scratchy throat, runny nose, tight chest and a rather dry cough. Well, that was good at least. That meant whatever the kit had caught hadn't settled into her chest just yet and her runny nose indicated that she hadn't developed a fever.
As the kit leaned into her dame for comfort, she let out a purr of amusement. "Of course you will. Every cat gets ill sometimes. When I was your age, I spent some time in Brightflower's den. She was the medicine cat before me."
The little brown tabby stood and went over to her herbal supplies. What should she offer the kit? She didn't want to give anything too strong to the little one but she did need a dose of something to help her feel better and make sure that she didn't get sicker.
She plucked a single petal of tansy, the smallest vein of root from the mallow plant and dabbed a little bit of honey on both before placing them on a grape leaf and bringing the dosage over to Robinkit.
"Now, I'm going to give you a couple things to eat. It might not taste the best, but it will help you feel better. This tansy flower petal will help your cough, while the mallow root will help your chest not feel so tight and I'm going to put a dab of honey on them to soothe your throat and make the herbs a bit tastier." She made sure to explain what she was doing aloud, partially for Robinkit's benefit and mainly for Sunstrike's. "Go ahead and lick it up off the leaf now. I'm sure you'll really like the honey I put on them."

Robinkit sniffled softly as she listened to Tigerrush explain the herbs, feeling a bit more at ease now that she knew what each one was for. Leaning into her mother’s warm fur, she felt safe, even though her throat was still a bit sore. When the medicine cat placed the grape leaf in front of her, Robinkit hesitated for just a moment before carefully licking up the herbs, wrinkling her nose at the taste despite the honey’s sweetness.
Once she’d finished, Robinkit glanced back up at Tigerrush with wide, curious eyes. "You know a lot about herbs" she whispered, her voice small but filled with admiration. "How do you remember them all?" the small kit asked, she seemed rather fascinated in the herbs and glanced over at the shelf that stocked some of the herbs. Robinkit sniffled and squinted her eyes before blinking a few times and turning back to her medicine cat. "What do the other ones do?"
The thought of Tigerrush knowing every plant and what it could do fascinated her, and she found herself wondering what it would be like to have that kind of knowledge. “Did Brightflower teach you… all of it?” she asked, her interest sparking as she imagined learning from someone as wise as Tigerrush. Robinkit thought about who Brightflower could have been... someone who knows just as much about herbs as Tigerrush did surely, maybe Brightflower was the medicine cat to. She glanced around for a moment but there was no sign of any cat aside from the ones she recognized.

Tigerrush waited and watched closely to make sure the kit in front of her took the dosage from the grape leaf obediently. The wrinkling of the nose was to be expected but at least Robinkit didn't spit the herbs out. As she removed the used grape leaf to set it in the discard corner of her den, the little brown tabby heard the soft voice of the kit speak up again.
"Brightflower taught me everything she knew and I've had to study very hard. I have also had good mentors in medicine cats of the other clans, especially after Brightflower passed away before I was officially named a medicine cat." Tigerrush kept a green eye on the kit to make sure she didn't go invade the stores, even if she was showing a potential interest in the herbs, the stores was no a place for kits. "I don't know all the herbs and I don't keep all of them in my stores, but a lot of what they do will depend on what is wrong. It depends a lot on what symptoms need treated, how strong of a treatment the patient needs, what I have in my stores."
Tigerrush padded over to Finchkit and Sunstrike, gently nosing the worried mother away so she could give Robinkit's brother a thorough once over to see if he was showing any potential signs of illness, while also covertly checking Sunstike herself as well.
