Nine days. Nine days until Heatherpaw was likely going to become a full warrior. It made Bayflower feel almost sick to the stomach. Not because he wasn’t happy for her. But because he had always felt like an average mentor. Despite his great compatibility with the molly, he often felt that she deserved better. That perhaps she deserved the best of the best. And that somebody was not him.
But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that the two of them finished her training properly. And to do that, he wanted to wrap up her combat training today.

Heatherpaw diligently followed after her mentor as they trudged lightly towards the treeline. Over the moons she had shed the gangly young proportions of a younger cat and was starting to fill out into her adult size and coat. Her journey as an apprentice seemed a typical one, but she had nothing to compare it to, and was pleased that both were heading out for some training now that the rogue was gone. Finally!
"Its so nice to be out an about again!" She chirped over at her mentor, chin tilted over with a pleased tilt of her plumed tail.
