Basilflame seemed to gaze off into the sunset for a moment, it was only faint stars that dappled the sky, but she noticed them and they seemed to bring her a sense of peace. The soft-furred lynx point had checked with the elders and queens if they had needed any prey before grabbing a finch from the fresh kill pile. Hazel eyes glanced back over to the nursery, she had been greeted by a wave of a dappled tortoiseshell and white tail of Beewhisker and Basilflame nodded in return before finding the warmest place she could to settle down and feed herself.
After sitting down, Basilflame began to pluck the feathers of the small bird with her teeth, the scent of the prey making her mouth water. The red and creamy-white she-cat lapped at her jaws with her tongue before biting into the finch, chewing slowly to savor the flavor of the meat that a hunting patrol had put their effort into to return to the clan, with a sigh, she knew that WindClan was the place for her, she adored the moor more than anything else she knew, and the feeling of euphoria just being in camp made her sure of that.
And thus, Basilflame kept to her finch, occasionally twitching the blood from her whiskers. There's nothing she would trade for this, even the little moments felt like she was at home, no wonder her mother had left ShadowClan to be here. Though, she did wonder if that ShadowClan flowed through her... Regardless, she was glad that she was WindClan, and nothing was changing that

While the day might have been clear and bright, the air still gnawed at the molly's skin, for sub-zero temperatures would always bite, no matter now sunny the day seemed. Things only got more unpleasant as the sun descended, its rays drifting off to rest as WindClan was left shrouded in a cold darkness. Aspenberry glanced towards the nursery, unsure how kits even survived the cold. Having them during such a time was immensely risky. Just before she had been out on patrol with her father. An unofficial patrol at least, for he was retired and just wanted an excuse to feel useful, and to spend time with his daughter.
The lean black tom had retreated to his den, and Aspenberry had considered following him inside letting herself be embraced by parental warmth and comfort to fight the cold. She hadn't though, for that den still served as an empty reminder of Emberback, and it felt uncomfortable to spend any more time than she should in there recently. Instead she trapsed towards the freshkill pile, which was stocked up well enough to feed her clan for the night. The only cat around was Basilflame, and as she passed to pick up a sparrow, she waved her tail in greeting.

The familiar scent crossed Basilflame's nose, passing through the prey and making her whisker's twitch in acknowledgment. Basilflame looked towards her and smiled at her subtle greeting. The two she-cats are only about four to five weeks apart in age and Basilflame's dame, Sunbear had helped nurse and raise Aspenberry, even staying in the nursery while Basilflame had become an apprentice. Her dame's dedication seemed rather remarkable given she was born into a different clan.
"Evening Aspenberry" Basilflame returned Aspenberry's greeting with a verbal response and a slight nod of respect to the slightly younger she-cat. "Care to join me?" She asked tapping her long furred, flame colored tail against the ground beside her. She hadn't really spent enough time with Aspenberry as she would have liked to, and today could be a day where they have some much needed bonding time.
"Come on, there's enough room for the both of us" She explained with a playful purr, plucking some of the feathers from her prey and taking a gracious bite from it, any prey is precious in leaf-bare after all, Basilflame just hoped that new-leaf would come sooner rather than later.
