Ashkit had spent a lot of time daydreaming in his first couple moons of life. Listening to the stories the elders told with awe as he imagined what it would be like to be a strong warrior or noble medicine cat himself.
But despite him trying to remain optimistic, his mother seemed... Weak... Postpartum depression he heard somebody mention. Apparently queens sometimes struggled to be happy after giving birth. Whatever happened though, he would be there for his kin.
The small tom sat by the entrance of the nursery, looking for his sire. With Aspenberry too occupied, Cloudflare had taken up the role of deputy himself. But Ashkit wanted to spend more time with his kin. Spend more time with those he called 'home'.

Cloudflare ducked from the Elder's den. Since becoming deputy he felt that he had to keep tabs on the well fare of his clan, which includes the most vulnerable of them. He had just deposited a vole for Barleyswipe who had a particular craving for one.
On his way across camp he spotted a black classic and white coat that caught his eye, and his head swerved dramatically. Making a show to retrace his steps, backwards, to stare at the kit in the nursery entrance with a plastered grin on his face. "Is that Ashkit?" He mewed out loud as he padded towards the nursery.
Once he was a paw swipe away, he flopped himself on his side and reached out with both paws to try and grab the kit into an awkward cat embrace.
