Beewhisker hadn't moved from their nest excluding a few trips to the fresh kill pile, to patrols and back for a few days now, but they couldn't really tell any cat how many, they had begun to blend together a while ago, even if they had gotten out for something that wasn't required of them. Their heart just hurt... so so much.

For a moment, they had forgotten what time it was, but generally, they didn't care, nothing seemed to matter much anymore, all that they could remember was the grief, the things that had happened to WindClan recently. They almost couldn't bare to get up and walk into camp, so they didn't. They sat, staring as the rolled a piece of moss in their paws, soon that would be gone too. How could so many cats do this?

When Sunbear entered, telling them to get out of their nest, go out into a world that hurt them to simply look at, they didn't move. "Leave me be, Sunbear. Please." they murmured, not even looking in the elder's direction.

Sunbear growled to herself, great StarClan they're worse than she thought they were. But just as ignorant. She knew that words would get her nowhere, not to a cat that wasn't listening to a thing that she was saying. A... different approach was needed.

With a sudden, explosive burst of strength, the old cat shoved her shoulder hard into Beewhisker's flank, knocking them sidewards into the cold earth. She knew it would bruise a bit but she needed Beewhisker's attention and nothing that any of her other clanmates did ever worked, something needed to be done otherwise they would leave a bad impression on the clan.

"I said, get up." She snapped, dark tail lashing as they stared down at a very startled Beewhisker.

One moment, Beewhisker was simply staring at the moss on the ground, then next, brute force rammed into their side, pushing them to the ground with the ease of a fox tackling an apprentice. In that moment, they had forgotten how strong Sunbear still was. And in that moment, they simply stared up at her in shock.

Beewhisker then scrambled to their paws, their shock clearing the haze in their eyes, even for a split second before their claws instinctively flexed out. The fur along Beewhisker's spine bristled and their tail then puffed up like an ungroomed thistle. It was clear that Sunbear had their attention now.

"What is wrong with you?!" They snapped, though the snap lacked strength as the haze returned to their eyes, their brows furrowing as their claws scraped against the moss nest. "My best friend is gone! My daughter-" They were soon cut off by Sunbear herself.

"Your daughter got taken by Twolegs, and your best friend hunts with StarClan," Sunbear interrupted Beewhisker before they could make excuses for themself. They were upset by Aspenberry's death but they didn't think of the cat that raised her. Sunbear was determined to remind them of that.

"And you? You're sitting in the dark, letting your bones turn to water." She narrowed her eyes daring Beewhisker to say something, her tail continued to lash. Sunbear had only been this riled up because Beewhisker's grief was now affecting the livelihood of more than just themself, it was now affecting an apprentice.

Granted, they didn't think that Fawnstar giving Beewhisker an apprentice while they were in this state was the best judgement. But that wasn't her place to say. Her hazel eyes continued to bore into Beewhisker, her stance sturdy and unmovable. And even so, Beewhisker wasn't stupid enough to attack an elder in their own camp.

At Sunbear's berating, Beewhisker flinched. No cat had bothered to be this harsh to them before. They weren't sure if they were angry or shocked that Sunbear was so easily able to get their attention, to break them out of the blurry days and the overall upset that they were laying in for so many moons. They chose angry.

"You don't understand! It feels like a hole has been ripped through my chest. I can't breath out there! Everything reminds me of them!" They snarled, pulling their ears back.

They had no intention to hurt Sunbear, they weren't stupid enough to do that. They may be stupid but they weren't violent... not really. They just couldn't stop the pain. And it felt too heavy, too heavy for them to hold up anymore.
