WindClan Camp, Talking Cliff & the gathering area under it.

"Let all those who are old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Talking Cliff for a Clan meeting!"
Fawnbriar had seen Badgerstar making his way to the top of the Talking Cliff and had made her way to sit at the deputy's spot nearby, resisting the urge to continually shake to rid her fur of moisture. She knew the Gathering was tonight, even if the whole world was currently being drenched by rain. Unfortunately, even with the rain falling, it didn't seem to tame the heat much and just madde the air more stiffling to try and breathe. Giving a sigh of resignation, she waited to see who Badgerstar would have join them and Rowanbough at the Gathering.
Unlike her daughter, Brightmaple was not going to go and sit in the middle of all this Starclan-forsaken rain. The humidity was making her knees and elbows ache and even if she was invited to the Gathering, she would refuse this night. She wasn't going to leave her nest for anything this night and instead, she wriggled back down and just kept her folded ears perked to listen to the rest of the meeting from where she was.
Boulderdash came into camp drenched to the skin but with a large blackbird in her mouth. She had been out hunting and had been lucky to catch the stupid bird resting out of the rain on a too low perch and had been easily able to nab it. As she out it on the fresh kill pile, she grabbed a vole in return and padded into the shelter of some nearby foilage. Shaking the raindrops from her whiskers, she bent down to start eating the vole in rapid small but hungry bites as she listened to see what Badgerstar wanted.
Normally, Shadesleek liked rain, but as the black warrior padded from the warriors' den to the Talking Cliff, her tail lashed. Between the heat, the rain, and the wind, this weather was excessive. The only reason she left the den was so she didn't look too lazy. She envied Brightmaple a little. At least elders had an excuse to stay put.
Maybe it's better at Fourtrees, she thought. Not that she had a way of guaranteeing she'd even go to the Gathering tonight. Standing a bit away from others around, Shadesleek tried to shake out her coat, even though she knew it was useless. Whatever water was flung from it would instantly be replaced by what fell from the sky.

In the very short span of time that he darted from the warrior's den to dirt place, Cloudflare's dense coat had been soaked to the brim. He wanted to make an inevitable return to his nest before he heard Badgerstar's cry. It had been so dark and so dour already he barely realized that it was time to call for the Gathering announcement.
Softly cursing under his breath, his stocky form sat close to where he could attempt to hear his announcement, knowing that he'll have to screech pretty loud to be heard by all this night. If Badgerstar needed a volunteer, Cloudflare would go to Fourtrees, even if that meant melting into the very ground.

Moss balls caught in the stretch of his polydactyl claws, the old she-cat arched their back as if that were enough to deter the humidity from getting to them. Brightmaple had the right idea, and when their eyes narrowed against the side swiping rain and out of the den, he spied Badgerstar hopping up to address the crowd. Long tail thumping besides their nest, which just happened to be next to the folded earred she-cat, Barleyswipe growled. "With all this rain and wind it'll be next to impossible to hear the announcement and my ears are straight up! I think its safe to say we'll be tucking our heads down and minding our own business tonight." They winked. "At least until they march their way back."

Rowanglade slid out of her den, keeping to the back of the gathering throng of cats. She kept to cover and came to sit near the fresh-kill pile. She would stay dry until she couldn’t anymore. She’d be soaked through soon enough. The medicine cat was always expected to attend, though the code didn’t insist on it. Rowanglade suspected the tendency started because it gave Medicine Cats extra opportunities to encounter one another more-so than anything else.
Piperpaw was in the middle of clearing moss out of the elder's den, dipping her head in respect as she passed by Barleyswipe and Brightmaple. The elders seemed uninterested in the call of Badgerstar and at the moment Piperpaw didn't blame them.
She was fairly new at this whole apprentice thing - not to mention being called upon in front of the whole clan would be super scary. She spat out the moss as she reached the entrance of the den, and padded back inside to grab some more. She still had to clear the bedding, check the warrior's den for leaks, ask the elders if they needed ticks removed, change the bedding of the apprentice den.... the list went on and on.
It would be better if she wasn't called upon tonight, right?

"Tonight is the Gathering. I'll keep it short due to the weather. Joining myself, Fawnbriar and Rowanglade will be Shadesleek, Boulderdash and Brightpaw. Pinestep will guard camp. Featherflight please double check the dens for leaks. We leave shortly."
Fawnbriar gave herself one last, futile shake to get what excess water she could from her fur before surrendering to the downpour once more as she moved to join her leader at the entrance to camp. She was looking forward to getting this done and over with so she could return to her nest and hopefully get a nap in before the patrols needed to be sorted out.
Two different colored eyes glanced up and widened in surprise. Boulderdash was going to the Gathering? And she was getting to go with her sister? Well, what a pleasant surprise. Boulderdash finished her meal and took a moment to lick both the remanents from her whiskers and lift a paw to wash her face quickly. Then she made her way over to her sister's side and prepared to leave for Fourtrees.
