Open to Join Unexpected Greeting

It was a lot harder to find prey in leaf-bare, that was for absolute certain. However, Greypebbles was able to snag a bird out from the sky and brought it to the fresh kill pile. While not hungry, Greypebbles was more than willing to catch more for the clan, as much as he could, that was one of the additions to being a warrior. However, Greypebbles wondered when all this would pay off, when being a warrior would be... worth it? Great StarClan he sounded like he hated being a warrior...

That wasn't it at all, he loved being a member of his clan, he just felt like he was nothing more than... average, of such little importance that if he left there would be nothing else that he would be able to contribute to the clan. With a sigh, he dropped the bird down on the pile of prey, as skinny as each prey had been.

When his name was said, Greypebbles flinched slightly and looked up quickly to whoever had greeted him, his bristled grey fur flattened when he noticed a black tabby pelt and a familiar shortened tail. "Spidertongue.. hey" he responded, he already felt the awkwardness and tension in the air and nearly visibly cringed back at it, but regardless, he stood to his full height, which granted was a little below average, and let out a breath through his nose and flicked his ears, looking away awkwardly "You seem.. well?"

Spidertongue nodded "Yes...I am well, how about you?" he asks his brother. He observes Greypebbles's behavior as the tom's orange eyes look at him. It didn't surprise Spidertongue, with the brother he knew is still anxious when it comes to socializing. And so to give him space, the black tabby warrior moved a little to the opposite side from Greypebbles, and proceeded to sit down.
Blinking, now he is focused on the freshkill pile. It appears small yet there are three additions added in: one plump squirrel and a mouse, from Spidertongue himself. The other, belongs to Greypebbles, a bird. In his mind, the warrior is pleased that both have brought each of their own prey back.
"I've met someone from a few days ago. Her name was...Leapordrose. Do you perhaps know her, Greypebbles?" as the warrior said without facing his brother - ears perked up as he waits for Greypebbles's response.

"Well, I'm the same as always" Greypebbles said quietly, sitting upright, and yet he was still no taller than an older apprentice, though he had learned to embrace it at that stage, there wasn't much he could change about his size so he might as well look on the positive side of it. Greypebbles did appreciate Spidertongue giving him space, it was considerate and Greypebbles forced a crooked, mostly awkward grin meet his littermate's words.

When Spidertongue mentioned Leopardrose, Greypebbles' ears perked up as if his mood lit up with the mention of her name. They grey tom's blue-grey eyes flicked over to his brother for a moment.. they didn't talk to one another very often... As much as Greypebbles didn't like the distance, he was never sure what to talk about with the black tabby, so there was mostly silence between the brothers were there should have been a bond.

"Well of course I do, she's a close friend of mine" Greypebbles responded, his tone quiet but warm and genuine, he had spent many days talking with Leopardrose about all sorts of things and it eased his mind a little just to be around her, he wondered if other cats would be able to bring him out of his shell like that. Or... or if he'd always be this anxious around everyone but his favourite clanmate, his favourite friend.

Leopardrose padded into the clearing with an effortless gait, the sharp chill of leaf bare biting at her fur. Her sleek, spotted coat glimmered faintly in the pale sunlight as she carried a small vole in her jaws - hardly the most impressive catch, but it was better than nothing during this barren season. Dropping it onto the fresh kill pile, her aqua eyes caught sight of Spidertongue and Greypebbles sitting together nearby. A flicker of curiosity sparked in her chest as she caught the faint murmur of her name on the breeze.

Tilting her head slightly, she approached the pair her tail flicking in a playful rhythm. "Hello, you two." Her smile was slight, although her eyes were a bit tired. "What are you two whispering about over here? Not about me, I hope."

Her gaze flicked to Greypebbles lingering for just a moment longer than necessary as she noted the shift in his expression. His ears were perked up, and there was a brightness in his usually reserved demeanor that made her own whiskers twitch. Whatever did she walk into?
