Open to Join Smoldering Embers

Even in the darkest shadows, there is always a glimmer of light. We just have to look for it.

Clovershine had been aching to visit the new queen and her offspring ever since the day they were born, and with Dazzlepaw's training finished for the day, she finally had the chance to pay the nursery a visit. Clovershine gave a gentle nod to Dazzlepaw to send him off of duty and her bright blue eyes flicked to the nursery, she remembered the milky scent from when she had been in the nursery raising her own young, she let out a purr as she strode over to the entrance of the nursery.

The lynx point she-cat poked her head through the entrance and let out a small mew to announce her presence before speaking "Emberdust, I wanted to say congratulations on your new litter, seems like they've already gotten a bit bigger already" she noted before slipping into the nursery with a slight limp. and sat a fair distance away from her to give her space she would definitely need in the coming moons.

Clovershine looked down at the kits, two she-cat one tom, one of the she-cats hade a silver-ish tinge to her pelt, the other was a pointed tortie, both beautiful kits, and the tom, a smoke tom, he was less loud and wriggly then his sisters, Clovershine let out a soft chuckle. "A beautiful set of kits Emberdust, I bet you're very proud"

Emberdust stepped into the nursery, her gaze immediately melting. Muddykit’s soft, strangled mew caught her attention first, and she let out a warm purr as her silvery torbie daughter struggled to wiggle her way across the nest toward her.

"Ugh, Wait-Wait there..." She murmured gently, lowering herself back into the nest to block Muddykit’s attempt at escape. She gave the kit’s tiny head a few affectionate licks, before her eyes glanced up. "Thanks, Clovershine!" 

She glanced back at Clovershine, her shortened tail slapping in welcome as she invited the she-cat inside. "You raised three kits too - How'd that go? Did you ever feel like...you were going a little crazy?"

"Well, I was only given Duskpaw when he was weaned, so I didn't really have to wean the little tom, but while I had the three of them, well, let me put it this way" Clovershine began, gently nudging Muddykit closer to Emberdust's warm, milky scented belly. "You yet so used to the havoc that it becomes all you know, I certainly learned to love the energy the little ones have. Bet you'll have a lot of fun with Muddykit here" she purred, using a paw to playfully tap Emberdust on the shoulder "Regardless, I'm always here to help you if you need me, whenever the little ones get too restless."

Clovershine's blue eyes scanned the kits for a moment, her eyes flicked to Wolfkit, the only tom in the litter, raising she-cats was a mystery to Clovershine and it most definitely was to Emberdust, but the whole clan would be there to help her, Emberdust wasn't going to be alone in this, especially with Specklenose around, despite how graceless he might be. "You won't just have me either, the whole clan raises kits, not just the queen, that's the beauty about living in clans. No cat is left behind" she added with a purr.

Clovershine's whiskers twitched when she felt a little spotted nose quietly prod at her belly, she glanced down and noticed little Wolfkit attempting to latch onto Clovershine, causing her to stifle a small laugh "Oh sweetheart, I've got no milk for you. How did you get here this fast" she cooed, earning a quiet, barely audible mew from the kitten. Clovershine let her chuckle free and glanced over at the orange eyed she-cat "I like your son is giving me some sass, Emberdust" she joked

"Noooo that's not fairrrr!"

Swampkit slept soundly most of the time. But today, when Muddykit started wiggling beside them the feline slowly blinked their eyes open. They were barely a week old and couldn't do much besides demand milk and drink it. Currently, the she-kit was just in a world of her own, not at all minding the three grown cats having a conversation.

Emberdust let out a small laugh as Muddykit took the tumble in stride, completely unfazed by her brother being plopped right on top of her. "Perfect. Thank you, Specklenose." Her voice warm as she nudged Wolfkit with her nose, shifting him unceremoniously so he wasn’t completely smothering his sister.

Her orange eyes gleamed with amusement as she turned her gaze to Clovershine. "See what I mean? I get what you mean about learning to love the chaos, though..."

With a ravenous lap at her maw, she flashed an appreciative look as she leaned forward to sniff the frog Specklenose had brought her. “A FROG - no Starclan-flippin' way! You really went all out, huh?"

She shifted slightly in the nest, careful not to disturb Swampkit, who was still lost in their own little world. The sight of her kits curled up beside her, warm and safe, made her chest swell with something deep and fierce. "You're right, Clovershine - but these kits are still mine. And well, Specklenose's too. I'd like a break occasionally though - and Specklenose makes me want to find a frog out there sometime too. He can't have all the fun!" She blinked, glancing between Clovershine and Specklenose before adding with a smirk.
