Even in the darkest shadows, there is always a glimmer of light. We just have to look for it.

Clovershine rested her short haired form in the middle of the clan clearing, she had a clear view of the nursery and her sons from where she sat, watching them play with one another with the joy and innocence that any cat would strive to keep protected. The lynx pointed queen let out a soft purr, lowering her body to the camp floor and tucking her paws beneath her chest. She then placed her tail around her body to keep herself neat and presentable.

She always tended to miss the company of Palestar when she was off at the gathering, but it never lasted extremely long, well not too long for her liking anyway, the clan usually returns by the next sunrise in any case. With a few licks of her chest, she glanced around the clamp, few cats had been left back from the gathering, but it was surely enough to keep the camp safe if any attack were to happen, and she was more than happy to help with any duty that was required to keep her kits safe and away from harm.

With a sigh and a few more licks of her pelt, she took one more look around the camp. "I wonder if I could have a chat with Palestar about the gathering when she returns" Clovershine murmured to herself, keeping her blue eyes fixed on her kittens that tumbled about in the nursery "Careful Murkkit, Redkit and Dazzlekit are smaller than you" She called out to the smokey tom-kit

Hickorystorm had been considering making his way back to the elder's den since the Gathering chosen had left, pondering over whether or not he might want to try and be led to a Gathering even if Palestar allowed him to do so. He had stood and began carefully making his way across camp, listening to the potential for an ambush from the kits, though he was sure with how late it was getting that their dame would be attempting to settle them for bed. Boy, was he wrong.

The blinded tom found out just how wrong he was when he literally collided with Clovershine, practically tripping over her, as he was busy listening for the kits that he wasn't letting his nose guide him across the normally cleared camp center. He faceplanted with a grunt of surprise, getting dirt up his nose as his body somersaulted and he flopped in an unflattering spawl.

The striped queen yelped and staggered back on her paws as she accidentally ran into Hickorystorm, how could she be so blind! It wasn't like her eyes were covered by leaves. "Hickorystorm I apologize, I mustn't have seen you there" Clovershine mewed apologetically to the ShadowClan elder as she used her nose to help prod the elder to his paws. To add to her apology, Clovershine showered the elder in rasping licks to clean up his pelt, surely this would help him forgive her for the small accident.

Once the elder was at his paws, or at least seated comfortably Clovershine sat beside him, curling her striped tail over her paws "Anyway" She added, if Hickorystorm would stay beside her, she would at least hope to start up a conversation, something entertaining while her kits settled themself in the nursery. "Have you been resting well Hickorystorm? Any stories from the elder's den? I'm sure the kits would appreciate some new stories" She added with a light hearted trill. twitching the tip of her tail, despite the elderly tom's blindness anyway.

Clovershine began to work the earth with kneading paws before shuffling to lay on the peat of the camp floor, it was comfier than she would have thought, but not as comfy as her nest in the nursery, though, who was she to argue on a place to rest. "If you have none that is okay as well, I'm sure I squeezed them all out of the elders when I was a kit" She joked lightly, flicking her ears and her bright blue eyes gleaming with a sense of playfulness even though Hickorystorm was unable to see her playful gaze due to his sightless eyes.

"I was the one who tripped over you." Hickorystorm admitted before he sneezed the dirt from his nose as he felt a nose nudging him and helping him to get back up. He shook his head and, once on his paws, his whole chocolate tabby frame, before sitting down. His ears twitched as he heard Clovershine apologizing and felt her tongue run through his fur. "Should I have been paying more attention to my nose than my ears."

As he listened to Clovershine a bit, he licked a paw and drew it over his whiskers before tilting his head slightly. "I'm doing alright. Nothing new but I guess the kits have been behaved enough when I've interacted with them." He heard the queen lay down and settle herself in front of him before letting his whiskers twitch in amusement. "They seem to think they need to protect a poor, defenseless, blind elder like myself."
