While it wasn’t exactly the most comfortable of temperatures for the longhaired tom, he was still determined to go forward and train Swamppaw today. However, it was much later than he would have liked… but an idea struck with the timing that caused a smile to sweeten his muzzle.

He had allowed Swamppaw to have some rest for the day but did let her know to be ready whenever he would come to get her, having most of the day off did not mean that the work of a warrior was ever done. So as the sun began to creep slowly behind the trees, Quailfeather lifted himself from his nest and shook out his fur, peeking his head into the apprentice den for Swamppaw.

His eyes met her tortie point pelt in the darkness and greeted her with a soft trill, flicking the pale tip of his tail for her to come out. “I’ve thought of something a little different today, do you think you’ll be able to follow me out of camp?” he asked gently, he knew a good place to take her to practice navigating in the dark.
