Aside from Gatherings, Hollyclaw felt like patrols were about the only time she regularly went past the tunnel that ran beneath the Thunderpath and left ShadowClan's territory. In her opinion, it made sense to check the area before Fourtrees. It may not've been within her Clan's borders, but that didn't mean it was within the others' either, and she was currently part of a patrol that consisted of herself and Heronsong.
Padding out of the foliage, Hollyclaw stopped a few fox-lengths from the tunnel and scented the air. She looked towards ThunderClan's border first, but didn't neglect WindClan's direction after.

It was a lovely morning, one of which that was great for a nice walk in the sunlight. Sunbear had patrols around WindClan's territory many times before and her paws took her to the edge of the territory, close-by the rim of fourtrees, the massive red she-cat has not been invited to a gathering since her retirement, which is fair due to fact that elders didn't go to gatherings unless they hadn't formally retired. Either way, Sunbear rather enjoyed her walks down here, enjoying the peace and quiet. Especially away from the squealing newborns in camp.
The pointed elder glanced at the shared territory of all the clans. Though, a familiar scent wafted into her nose ShadowClan scent. Though it wasn't in WindClan's territory, thank StarClan for that. Sunbear then turned her head to see where the owner of the scent. Sunbear's hazel eyes focused onto the two warriors, two she wasn't particularly familiar with, sure she had been to gatherings before she retired, but never paid a whole lot of attention to the warriors there unless the leaders were speaking of them.
Though, despite not knowing these warriors too well, she recognized a tabby pelt and the chocolate color, it was familiar, reminded her of an old she-cat she knew when she was in ShadowClan so long ago... That's right! Hawkfeather, perhaps her and Hawkfeather are kin in some way. But Sunbear did not journey down to introduce herself, that was not her, so she stood tall and stared down at the two cats, blinking occasionally, the sun setting her pelt alight as if glowing like fire.

Heronsong padded along after Hollyclaw without much thought. She liked Hollyclaw just fine, but the other she-cat tended to be rather quiet, and even though the two weren't that different in age, she had been much closer to being a warrior when Heronsong first became and apprentice. There was still some sense to Heronsong of a vast difference in experience, even if now the few moons seemed arbitary. As Hollyclaw forged ahead into the tunnel without much explanation, Heronsong followed. Tilting her head, she asked, "We're checking even this part?" as she emerged into the stretch of neutral ground. "We can't leave border markings here, can we?"
Eyes catching a dark spot far off to her right side, Heronsong stood still, studying the long, red fur from a distance. "Besides, it looks like there's a Windclan warrior nearby. We shouldn't anger them."

The massive red elder glanced over at the two ShadowClan warriors. It was incredible how close the tabby looked compared to the last time Sunbear had seen Hawkfeather, though the two didn't really end their friendship, if any, on a positive note. It wasn't any of her concern though. "I see assumptions of being made of me? Before I speak you assume I will scold you for what? Walking on common grounds?" Sunbear replied to the tabby, she would assume her voice was faintly recognizable from gatherings and such but it wasn't in her interest to be widely recognized.
Hazel eyes glanced at Hollyclaw indignantly, cocking her head to the side and raising a brow. "I wished to stroll around the moor, and perhaps glance over into the past" Sunbear added, glancing over to ShadowClan's territory and flicking her ear, sure she had lived long in ShadowClan, but she also lived a long time in WindClan, so much so that these cats weren't even born by the time she left... sure makes a cat feel old.
"I haven't seen a patrol around here in a while, and I've been around far longer than either of you" She meowed, her voice rather deep and gravelly with age, she addressed both warriors with an equal, toneless voice. Then her green eyes glanced back towards Hollyclaw, flicking an ear in acknowledgment "Though, you look near identical to a cat I was once familiar with, perhaps she has had kittens. Holly...something yes?" She inquired, recalling many gatherings ago, Hollyclaw had been given her warrior name and Sunbear had attended the gathering where it had been announced, but it was rather long ago, Sunbear's memory could only take her so far

Heronsong padded forward, standing beside her fellow warrior. She had no quarrels with elders, especially, but seeing one so far out of their camp, nearly out of their territory, was something odd. The last time an elder had ventured so far out of Shadowclan's camp, it had been Petalstorm. "We're not assuming anything of you," she replied, trying to sound helpful. "We just hadn't expected to see any other cat this far out today."
She kept her tail held lazily aloft as the she-cat replied with a glance into Shadowclan territory. Heronsong drew a complete blank as to what that could mean, and glanced over to Hollyclaw. How did the Windclan cat know her clanmate?

Sunbear's ears twitched as she looked at the warriors for a moment, making sense of who they were and studying their body language to ensure they were no threat, she knew they weren't here to cause harm, but it had become a small habit of hers to check just in case. She twitched her nose in acknowledgement of Heronsong's response. Would she not be on a walk without question? Though despite the statements of the grey she-cat, she decided it wasn't worth an argument over.
She gave a nod of understanding to Heronsong before her attention was grabbed by Hollyclaw's words and she gave another understanding nod. "Hollyclaw right, apologies" she meowed. Though her ears perked quickly at the mention of Hawkfeather's more recent litter, "Warriors hm? Let Hawkfeather know that I told her congratulations, raising two litters isn't an easy task, I'm sure they'll make fine warriors" she meowed, some sense of genuine meaning in her dull pitched voice.
It was then that her dark nose twitching ever so slightly at the mention of her name "Oh I'm the topic of the clan still eh?" she meowed, her tone somewhat bland but her eyes glimmering with amusement. And it was then that Heronsong got her official introduction from Hollyclaw. With her regular dull mannerisms, Sunbear dipped her head. "I'd like to say it's nice to meet you both, though you haven't made much of an impression yet"

Heronsong blinked as the other two cats went back and forth. Sunbear was not a name she was too familiar with, although she might have heard it once or twice in passing. Still, she kept a friendly smile on her face as she listened to the elderly she-cat. "I don't believe I've heard much about you," she commented, hoping it might be at least a bit reassuring. She knew she wouldn't like it if a whole clan was talking about her in her absence. But if Sunbear had known Hawkfeather, perhaps she had also known Heronsong's own mother.
"My mother was Silverflight, if you knew her at all. She passed on some moons ago," she said. With a small laugh, she added, "At least we haven't made a bad impression."
