Goosesong flicked his ears, Coldgaze thought abruptness wasn't exactly confidential or friendly, though.. neither did Goosesong, but nevertheless, it was how he spoke now-a-days. He enjoyed honesty, preferred outright honesty if anything. The face that Coldgaze commented on his abruptness was not how Goosesong hoped the conversation would go however...

"I did not walk away because of dealing with the wrath of the river, it was her disrespect towards one of our ancestors that made me question being around her more than I have to. What kind of warrior is Bloomfire if she has no respect for even the weakest of StarClan's cats" Goosesong replied, giving one of his tufted ears a flick before twitching his nose, sniffing about for any unfamiliar scent, but nothing came around, only scents of the land prey and Coldgaze, and perhaps the last patrol around here.

Mentoring... Goosesong thought to himself, narrowing his eyes in though. His own mentor has taught him to be a strong warrior and use his size to his advantage, and to hunt even the trickiest of prey, he wouldn't be angry if he was able to pass all he knew onto an apprentice of his own. "We'll see what Boldstar says" He meowed, padding a few pawsteps ahead of Coldgaze with no particular direction, simply embracing the weather.

"Reedpaw was a subject so sympathy in her own right" Goosesong added, passing over the comment that was made about her not being an ancestor, Goosesong knew she was not as ancient as some, but with time, her memory will live on, hopefully in the hearts of the future cats of RiverClan, and might be there to lend lives to leaders, but who knows. "I agree with Bloomfire on one thing however, Reedpaw was never built for the water, she was rather petite and light boned. If she weren't my kin, I would have agreed with Bloomfire completely, I don't blame her entirely"

Goosesong's words hung in the air for a moment, as he listened to Coldgaze's reasonable concerns. "It's hard yes, but RiverClan has survived worse, as have all the clans" He explained, noticing that his deputy was matching his gait and calmed his pace a little to accommodate, not that he really needed to, but it was more of an instinct than a voluntary accommodation. "What we need is mentors that are up for the challenge and talented hunters, all the clans struggle in leaf bare." he meowed, flicking his ear as the words held their weight for a moment.

"I'm not trying to change whatever you have planned of course, Boldstar has chosen you for a good reason, multiple I'm sure" Goosesong responded, looking down at his white paws, giving his striped tail a few flicks to show his concentration, despite his aqua gaze glancing away from RiverClan's deputy. "But, in your opinion, which of Boldstar's kits do you think I would be given as an apprentice if I was gifted with the honor?" he asked, attempting to shift the topic away from something so grim.

"That is not what I meant Coldgaze" Goosesong replied, his expression still and unreadable. "I was simply referring to how we're all struggle, if I were responsible for other clans, I would be in other clans" the large tom added, flicking his striped tail, fixing his gaze on Coldgaze had he explained his plans, despite saying that it wasn't so, it, in Goosesong's definition, was a plan of some sort. 

Goosesong flicked an ear, Coldgaze wanted to know what Goosesong thought on it? Very well. "I think if we find unclaimed land, we should certainly take the opportunity when we have it" Goosesong replied his nose twitching as his eyes flicked to Coldgaze's chocolate tabby pelt then towards his odd colored eyes, locking onto the both of them. "Though, the flaw with unclaimed territory would mean being certain there is prey there, I have heard there are mice in a barn nearby, though... I am not sure if there are any feline residents and twolegs are common there" 

Coldgaze then went on to explain how Boldstar took his advice well and Goosesong was sure that was correct, they did seem to have similar ideals. Though differences between them were common. "Hypothetically, Mistykit or Merrykit" Goosesong replied, flicking an ear before taking a quick glance away but his gaze returned quickly to his deputy. "Although, I think you would make a fine mentor to any kit as well"
