Open to Join Burning Ravens [3LN20]

Today was one of those days that Sarafina was lucky enough to be let out, past her catio too. It was probably just her owners thinking she wouldn't stray too far due to the nasty weather. Today was better though, not that she really knew though as she had spent most of her days inside, snuggling against the warmth of her humans and family. With her large teeth bared as she yawned, she let her long legs take her where ever they desired. She preferred the less busy areas, away from the roads and more towards the trees where she might pick up a snack of sorts. 

Before she could even consider where to go though, a new scent hit her nose and she instantly puffed up her fur, teeth bared. Instinct was all it was, but she was on edge nonetheless. Tracking the smell, all she needed to do was look up. She saw a small, black bundle of fur atop her fence and started at it with suspicious confusion. Who was this? Other than her family, not many cats lived directly near her, and the ones that did didn't seem to stray this way either. Keeping her distance, she padded towards the cat, well, kitten really before calling up to her. 'Uh, hello?'

RAVEN 🐈‍⬛ SHE/HER 🖤 DOMESTIC KITTEN  

Looking up a little, Raven made eye contact with Sarafina, the curious kitten’s whiskers twitching before she sat down on the fence. “Hi!” the black molly responded with a friendly smile. Wow! A new friend! The colours of the older she-cat’s pelt reminded her of Noah’s a bit but not really. Noah was pale ginger while this feline in front of her looked more yellow. “Wow wow wow. What’s this?” Raven questioned, jumping down from the fence and padding over to the other feline’s catio, sniffing at it. Back at home she didn’t have a catio. Just a cat tree she slept in about 16 hours a day.

Started as the the kitten jumped down into her garden, Sarafina took a few steps back, instinctively hissing. She didn't mean too but her body just reacted that way, so she shot the cat a slightly apologetic look before watching as she observed her catio. She felt embarrassed too, for the size difference between them was very significant. The cat didn't even reach the top of Sarafina's legs, her lean, muscular body looking very out of place compared to the plumper body of the kitten across from her. The black kitten's nose was hard at work as she investigated the structure, and Sarafina couldn't help but smile as it reminded her of the time she was first taken outside. The curiosity would always be endless. 

'That's where my humans put me when I want to go outside and they can't be bothered to watch me. Sometimes they let me fully out on my own, like today, but most of the time I'm in there. It's open, you can go inside.' She said, pointing her nose towards a flap in one of the corners. She was only young, so it wouldn't hurt to indulge her curiosities for a bit. It was a grand area, full of tree branches and plants, along with the occasional ladder and platform. There were little pathways attached to the mesh walls that Sarafina could walk along, plus a few other tiny bits and bobs that Sarafina entertained herself with. Everyone else was luckily inside, so the cat could explore without being spat at by one of her family members. 

'Cause I'm expensive. That's what my mama says at least. Someone might take me. I could get run over or attacked to, she doesn't like it when I go out, but I think I could hold my ground. Maybe not against a car though... The big cage is called a catio, I don't mind it in there. I have space to run around and I feel safe too.' The cat seemed interesting in everything at once, well, not Sarafina though. It was weird having someone intruding into her home, but she had kind of invited her in. She rambled on about her own life, while Sarafina half listened, still a bit on edge. She ducked through the flap after the kitten, reaching her long, spotted forearms forward for a stretch. 'Who are you? And why are you here anyway?' she queried. Sarafina didn't usually get guests unless her owners had invited them over. 

With a mightly leap, Sarafina took to the highest platform in a single jump, landing swiftly uptop. She looked down at the kitten with a slight smirk, knowing that she was one of the only cats that could jump so high in a single leap. T'was the bonus of having such wild ancestry. If the kitten wanted to come join her, she was going to have to take a few extra steps.

Weird little kitten, is what Sarafina thought of this cat. She was curious, and oblivious to the fact that she was straight up intruding. She knew what some of the other housecats were like. Interesting souls that's for sure. Raven was lucky it was her that lived here. 'I don't really know, but my mother explained it as though I'm worth like, a thousand bowls of food. Food is important, and lots of food is very important so I kind of just understand it that way.' Who was Noah? Another housecat? Very likely so; probably someone the black kitten lived with. 

'I'm not really good company. Don't you have a mother to go back to or something?' Sarafina queried, watching how it took Raven more steps to reach her position. 'My mother and sister are inside. They don't like the cold. I would have thought most other cats would not like the cold either.' Sarafina spoke, but her senses drifted elsewhere, taking in sights, scents and sounds, it all blurring together into a muddled mess. The outside was always a lot. Sounds of cars and humans, chatter and clatter. She could hear it in the neighboring houses, her tufted ears swiveling at each sound. 'Do you live around here? I haven't seen you before. Most cats live further east, so I assume that's where you come from.'

Sarafina looked at Raven with amusement, the black she-kit's kit like tendencies frankly quite cute. 'Probably not very expensive at all' is what Sarafina wanted to say, but she wasn't one to pick fights, especially with cats so young. The kitten was probably worth a bowl of food at maximum, but she knew that to her owners, it would be a million, for owners nearly always loved their cats like they had mothered them themselves. 'Tall and pretty doesn't make me good company. All that means is I am good to look at. You are hardly paying attention to me anyway. I think what you like is the catio's company' Sarafina said with a smirk, although she had no malice in her tone. 'Well, I am Sarafina, or Sara. I live here with a few other cats, but really we are the only ones around here. I assume the area where you are is where most of the other cats are. It's a bit boring down here, but across that road is a forest. Ma told me I'm not allowed in there, so I would say you shouldn't either. Don't want to get lost and never come back.' she said with a wink.

As much as having someone new was interesting to talk to, Raven was more interested in other things. With a large yawn that flashed her pristine white teeth, the savannah she-cat flicked her tail from side to side atop her post. 'I am going to have a nap. Stay in here if you want but don't make a ruckus.' She meowed, with her tone a little harsher than she intended. While maybe a little harsh, it spoke the truth. If the kitten woke Sarafina up during her nap she would be greeted with a hard head bap, probably sending her to the ground. She was controlled enough to not use her claws at least.
