Sunstrike strode ahead, hopping up on a large rock that had yet to be removed from the orchard boundaries and surveying her surroundings, her ears swiveling like radars - hypersensitive to the world around her before skittering back down into the cover of the dying long grass.
It had been quiet, almost too quiet. She half expected the rouges to hunt them down at any moment - to make good on wiping out Thunderclan once and for all. But if she and Finchpaw didn't bring back any prey, then the new upstarts wouldn't even have to life a paw.
She scanned, looking for any sign of movement through the grasses. Anything that could fall prey to her claws.
