The slightly damp blades of grass glimmered with fresh dew as Quailfeather took Swamppaw through them, his tail brushing softly against her side as they walked, however that was mostly to make sure that she was still following him. He had taken Swamppaw so far from camp for a reason, the heathlands were level and rich with wood and foliage, it was darker here and much easier to conceal the two if they so much as needed to.

"Today we cover your vulnerabilities in a fight." The chocolate spotted tabby began, moving his body to face the seal tortie point head on, flicking the tip of his tail in anticipation. This was his first apprentice, everything was new, but he learned all this from Eaglecry, she was a good and kind mentor and Quailfeather turned out fine… he hoped.

"So," Quailfeather began, taking a glance down at his apprentice with a humble sort of smile and then glanced away, his sage green eyes near matching the foliage entirely. "What do you think one of your vulnerabilities are and how would you protect it in a fight?" he asked, lowering his tail and keeping his paws steady, but his muscles rippled beneath his fur, he was holding back his strength on his apprentice, as the last thing he wanted to do was actually hurt her.

After all, this was just training, just like when Quailfeather was still Quailpaw… just… the other way around! How strange that felt.
