The day was cooler than it had been for a while and Dovepaw was taking advantage of it. She had made sure to do her chores: checking the elders over for ticks, refreshing the nests in the elder's den and nursery, and she had just finished fetching the elders, Bravesong and Coyotekit moss-soaked water. Now it was time for her to get herself something to eat.
Desciding on a young squirrel, she pulled it from the pile and carried it over in front of the apprentices' den. There, she tucked into it and disemboweled her meal, removing the rest of the internal organs to set aside as she made sure to enjoy the heart and liver as her green eyes scanned camp to see who was around and see what her clanmates might be up to.
'Blissful at best, clueless at worst'

Larchpaw had been half sleeping in her nest within the apprentices den when she heard the familiar pawsteps of her sister, Dovepaw outside. Too drowsy to call out hello, she gave her sister a lighthearted grunt in greeting instead hoping it would suffice.
She had finished both her duties and her training for the day, which was what brought her to the state she was in now. Her training had been intense, so she took the opportunity to rest, not wanting to be exhausted for the next day.
She rolled over, mumbling something inaudible before finally opening her eyes, lifting her tail slightly in a proper greeting towards her sister. 'You finished for the day?' she queried, training her green gaze on Dovepaw. 'I had tough session today. I'm exhausted, but I got all my jobs done, so rest time for me!'

Dovepaw's ears perked as she heard one of her sister's grunting sleepily. She didn't respond, thinking Larchpaw had shifted in her sleep. Though the thought of nests made her conscious of the good amount of fluff this squirrel had and the dilute tortie she-cat made a note to gather some to offer for other's nests when she was done.
She had just taken a full bite of her squirrel when Larchpaw called from the den. She listened to her sister's question as she enjoyed her bite and swallowed before replying. "Yeah, I think so. Finished looking after the elders and taking care of the nursery. Dunno what else Mistyleaf might have me do, so figured I'd grab a bite just in case she wanted me to do anything else. Plus it's a good time to let my fur dry from carrying wet moss around."
Dovepaw seemed in a decently good mood at the moment, which explained why she was a bit chatty. Plus having food in her belly seemed to help so she wasn't hangry. She took another bite of the squirrel before mumbling around her mouthful. "But if you want a bit, go ahead. This young squirrel has plenty of meat on it."

'Mmm, I'm not too hungry but I'll have a bite. It's hard to refuse a squirrel after all!' She slowly made her way to standing, adjusting her paws so she could put herself in a standing position. Blinking the sleep out of her eyes, she heaved herself upwards with a heavy breath. Not the most graceful move but Larchpaw couldn't care less. It was just Dovepaw after all.
Once nearer to her sister, Larchpaw bent down to take a bite from Dovepaw's meal, chewing and swallowing in a matter of seconds. She swiftly swiped her tongue around her lips before giving her sister a grin. A stray, small ball of the squirrel's fluff drifted with the gentle breeze, and Larchpaw made an effort to catch it with an outstretched paw, hooking it within her claws. 'You gonna use this stuff? Cause I could do with a nest upgrade to be completely honest'
The cream she-cat toyed with the fur between her paws, carefully shredding the clump apart. 'If you were gonna use it for yourself, or something else I'll help. Got nothing better to do now that I'm awake'
