Spawn of flame, Thunder-struck, from the ashes I rise

The recent rains having seeped into every crack and crevice. Leopardrose crouched low by the base of the den, paw pressing against a stretch of softened wall where the brambles had thinned. She knew it needed to be done.
Her pale aqua eyes narrowed as she tugged loose a strand of old moss, testing the strength of the woven wall. Too much give. With a quiet huff, she reached for a sturdier stick nearby, weaving it in to brace the weak spot from the outside.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was better. She brushed the dirt from her paw as she considered other angles of attack. Maybe she should also check the other dens too.

Fallstripe stretched after waking, unsheathing his claws to sink into the dirt and raising his hindquarters to the sky. He padded outside of his den and sat down nearby to give himself a quick wash which would hopefully help wake him up.
As he licked his fur into respectable shape, Fallstripe noticed an older warrior across the way doing something to one of the other dens. What was she doing? As he continued watching, he saw her weave a new stick into the den structure and realized she was repairing it. Now that he thought about it, it wasn't surprising the dens might have got a bit of wear from all the recent rain.
Fallstripe gave one last lick to his tail, then walked over to the other cat. He wasn't assigned to any patrols yet today, and this task seemed like it could use another cat helping out. "Hello there," he greeted his clanmate, "Would you like some help with that? Eight paws are better than four."

Leopardrose flicked an ear at the sound of paws approaching, her gaze shifting from the bramble wall to Fallstripe as he padded up. For a heartbeat her posture stayed tight, wary of interruption but his words softened the edge in her eyes.
"Eight paws might help." She said with a wry curl of her whiskers. She stepped aside just enough to give him space, flicking her tail toward the spot she’d been bracing. "This section’s gone soft a bit from the rain."
Her tone wasn’t clipped, but practical, the way one spoke when a job mattered more than the chatter around it. Still her pale aqua eyes flicked to him again, glinting faintly with appreciation.
"If you find a few decent sticks we’ll weave them in tighter. I’ll test the walls from inside once we’ve shored up the gaps."
