Rimekit was dozing, but not so deeply that the shift in the nursery went unnoticed. The soft rustle of movement, the careful hush of tiny paw steps. Her tiny whiskers twitched as she caught the familiar scent of her cousin - her favorite, foxy cousin.

Keeping her breathing slow, she cracked one eye open just enough to catch a glimpse of him crouching, wiggling his little rump like some overgrown frog. He looked like he was gunna pounce -

She shut her eye again, keeping herself still, waiting. Let him think he had the upper paw. Let him think she was an easy target. The second he landed, she’d flip the game on him so fast he wouldn’t know what hit him. Her tail tip twitched just slightly in anticipation, although she tried her very best to remain calm.

Finchkit was not the most intuitive cat, not noticing when Rimekit had awoken. The tom crawled closer and closer until he deemed himself close enough to attack and with that, he pounced. "THIS IS FOR FOXCLAN! RAHHHHHH"

Rimekit barely held back a grin as Finchkit inched closer. Even as his muscles sprung him into the awaited pounce did she finally let out a little giggle. The moment he shouted his battle cry and came crashing down, she sprang to life. Twisting sharply, she rolled onto her back and shot her paws up to catch him mid air. His weight hit her, but she tried to use his momentum to throw him off balance, aiming to send him sprawling onto the mossy floor.

"Go. I'll be here."

When Rimekit sprang to life, Finchkit gasped in shock, the tom sprawling onto the mossy floor. "W-What!? H-How?" The kitten questioned unhappily, stomping his paws. "You cheated!"

Rimekit watched his little kitten tandrum. Very un warriorlike, but maybe foxlike. Either way, the corners of her little maw curled. "Cheated?" She echoed back, tilting her head in mock confusion. "Pfft! You just got fat paws - I could hear you a mile away!"Her tail flicked behind her, eyes gleaming with triumph. "A real warrior always knows when their enemy is comin'."

She pushed herself up onto her paws, standing tall - well, as tall as a kit could. "Guess that means I win this round... I wouldn't expect a fox to fight fairly." She added smugly, waiting to see just how much that would rile him up.
