Dawnflurry took the same spot he always did for patrol assignments. There was some extra energy in his steps. Whether it was from restlessness, the weather, or something else, he couldn't say.
"Specklenose will lead today's sunhigh patrol," the deputy announced as his tail slowly swished, "Nightwhisper will lead the dusk patrol, Hollyclaw will lead the moonhigh patrol, and Ashcloud will lead tomorrow's dawn patrol. I'll also lead an extra border patrol. Brackenwing and Sootbounce will organize the hunting patrols."
