Sunpool would've yawned as she returned to camp from a successful hunting trip with Hollyclaw, but the red she-cat's mouth was full with the neck of the duck the two had caught. By the time Sunpool reached the fresh-kill pile, Hollyclaw had already dropped off their smaller catches and gone off to do something else.
 
"Always so busy," Sunpool murmured after setting the fowl down. With that out of the way, she took a few steps away from the pile, stretched deeply, and let out an audible yawn before plopping down and rolling onto her side to enjoy late morning sunshine while she decided what to eat.

Hickorystorm had been lounging not far from the fresh-kill pile and if he had eyes, he would have blinked in surprise as Sunpool flopped down then rolled, her fur brushing his. He had thought he had been out of the way. Stupid him.

"Wish I was." He grumbled rather bitterly before lifting his voice to be a bit more audible to his unwitting companion. "I miss being able to hunt. It was relaxing and knowing that I was bringing food back for the clan made it fulfilling. Even when I wasn't able to bring anything back, it still felt like I was useful."

The chocolate tabby and white tom stretched his nose to snuff curiously at her, head tilted curiously before ending on a hint of surprise. "What all did you catch? Smells like you at least caught a duck?"

"We got the duck and some voles," Sunpool purred, and then some playfulness got into her tone. "You probably don't want to hear me go on about how you're still useful and there's more to life than hunting, but I can if you do."
 
Her fluffy tail-tip curled a bit. "Or if you're bored, we could start plucking the feathers."
