Briarfang's tail flicked back and forth as they led their new apprentice into Riverclan territory. They hadn't expected at all to be named a mentor to one of Boldstar's brood, but here they were, and they weren't quite sure where to start with the grey grown kit. They weren't even quite sure what was going through the young one's mind
"Well," they say with a breath not bothering to hide their cavalier attitude, "I suppose you should get the lay of the land? I've never had an apprentice before, but that's usually how these things go, don't they?"

Briarfang and Hailpaw
First day training

Hailpaw looked off into the forest as they traveled side by side. So far, she'd kept to herself- staring off into the trees with wide eyes like the kit- well, newly made apprentice- she was. However, she wasn't exactly easy to forget the existence of, considering she was certainly no small cat. For the time being, the two looked eye to eye, as some apprentices did. It wouldn't be long before she'd exceed Briarfang, though, considering her track record in her sire.
For now though, she was simply a young apprentice, who snapped her eyes to Briarfang once they began talking again.
"Oh, yeah! I think so, considering I'm supposed to guard this place one day."
She remarked; her eyes glimmering with thoughts of the future.. before finally she shook her head. No! She needed to focus! She was learning- and supposed to be listening!
"What're you gonna show me first?"
