It was morning and Thornstrike had brought Mistypaw across the river. They weren't very far from the border at Sunningrocks. Specifically, the warrior had chosen a spot with some depth to it and slower-moving waters. This would be more of an assessment than a lesson.
"Catch something," Thornstrike told Mistypaw, "then use that to catch something else. I don't care what the bait is or where you get it. Do what you think is best. Obviously, I'll be watching and there's no time limit, but I'd prefer it if you didn't catch something boring with the bait, so if you need extra claws, don't hesitate."
