Closed Thread When Roots Collide [LN2]

     'It is me! The one and only Chimera!'

 Potato's thick fur and well fed stocky body kept him warm and health during leafbare. While yes, it was colder, the only difference it made was that the days seemed duller and that he spent much more time inside, sometimes considering meowing at a human until they let him inside their home (as long as he had a clear form of escape). Today was the first day in a while that the sun managed to pierce through the clouds. While it wasn't the warm, the brighter atmosphere was enough to get Potato up and moving for the day. He didn't stray far though. 

The barn he lived in had a large garden off the side, in which Potato found himself enjoying lazing in. Many moons ago it once grew brightly coloured plants, in which Potato learnt were 'vegetables'. Now it was thick and overgrown with greenery, but sometimes on a random day you might see a peek of colour within its depths. 

It was as the silvery red tom stretched out in a sunny garden bed that he caught a faintly familiar scent, though he ultimately ignored it, a large yawn spreading across his mouth as he prepared to nap in the sun. 

     'It is me! The one and only Chimera!'
      ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧

    As his blue eyes fluttered closed, a loud crunch rang through his ears, and once again his eyes were open and alert. He looked around, irritated before spotting a black pelt within the midst of the plants. His hackles rose and he got up to investigate. He wasn't a hostile cat but when cats came to his home uninvited he couldn't help but be suspicious. 

The scent from earlier hit his nose again, and as he searched his memory for the owner of the scent, it clicked that it was very likely that WindClanner he had come across weeks ago. Bayflower was it? Hopefully...

'Bayflower.... we meet again. It seems you have stepped upon my humble abode. An act of trespass as you moor-dwellers would call. Though do not fret! I don't bite, but one would like to know what has brought you to these lands. I'm not a fan of uninvited guests'

     'It is me! The one and only Chimera!'

   'You don't even know your way back home...? How embarrassing.. Do one's senses not work properly? I can escort you back if you desire. Your boundaries do not lay too far from here' Potato offered to do so as he didn't have much else to do, plus last time they had talked Potato found himself significantly entertained. He wondered if the other clan cats were as... unique as this one, but doubted so, for he had heard the stories. 

He glanced at the vegetable garden, raising an unimpressed eyebrow as Bayflower seemed to think the garden was his home, or at least that is how Potato interpreted it as. 'I do not sleep in this garden. A pelt like mine will never be tainted by the wilderness. I rest within the depths of a human's home, abandoned, rejected and uninhabited. I do not recommend that one venture into there, my sister might not be as welcoming.' He said while pointing his blue gaze over to the abandoned farmhouse

   Surprised that the warrior actually agreed, Potato got up, leading the way out of the garden firstly. His silvery red pelt weaved in and out of the variety of plants before he popped back out into the open, looking behind him to see if Bayflower had gotten lost, for if they had Potato would have yet another thing to laugh at them about.

'One's border is just directly east from here, but the incompetence seethes through your pelt, and I worry that I have to guide you all the way there' He muttered, risking a cheeky glance at the black feline, before focusing back on his path with a shrug. His fluffy tail swished behind him as he placed his paws down with careful precision, holding his head with an air of confidence.
