Closed Thread Sprouting flowers and potatoes

     'It is me! The one and only Chimera!'

While Potato was usually one to laze around the farmhouse, today was one of those days he had bothered to actually get up; though whether he would be productive was a whole new question. He felt... a little energised today, and while he normally felt energised, this type of energised meant he wanted to walk, rather than just flop; and flop was what he usually did. 

He had heard from his sister firsthand of a clan cat coming to visit their home. Kosmo had brought her, but he had been out in the garden when they had gathered. He didn't exactly know what they had got up to, but the fact a clan cat had acted so casually around his family piqued his interest. Normally he avoided them as much as he could, hunting in the complete opposite side of their so called borders, but today he trotted along an open field, head and tail held high. He was near one of the clans he assumed. Not that close really, but closer than he ever usually went. 

So, Potato trotted along, his silvery red fur shimmering as he walked, letting his tail float behind him in a poised manner, whiskers twitching ever so slightly as he attempted to pick up the new scents of the unexplored land. Unbeknownst to him, it wouldn't be long before he would practically run into a shadowy warrior from WindClan itself. 

     'It is me! The one and only Chimera!'
      ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧ ⭒ ✧

 Before he could ever relax, a black shape bowled him over, sending him into the dust. While Potato lived a wild life, it wasn't an overly dangerous one, meaning unlike some of the other humanless cats nearby, he wasn't on guard all the time, conscious of each individual sense, Rather, he had just been focusing on sights and smells, not attune to the thundering pawsteps approaching him. 

He was shocked, frozen for a moment before springing to his paws with his ears pinned back. His heart raced, unsure of what had just attacked him, but he looked down to see it was simply another cat. One that reeked of clan. Despite this, the cat seemed as surprised as he was, meowing something he didn't hear with a startled tone. He peered down to observe the cat, his nose gingerly nearing them. 'Why has one not learnt to control their running? I smell the moorland on your pelt, therefore you must be one of the mighty rumoured warriors who hold their domain there. What brings one here? As your carelessness has caused grief to my pelt!' He turned his gaze away, letting out a little huff of annoyance. 

His reaction was all an act, though an act he performed for everyone new. It was fun to act in different ways, and gauge a cats reaction to however he chose to present himself. Hostility was unknown to Potato, for he had never come across it, nor new how to express such so as for now, the atmosphere was simply filled with confusion, in Potato's eyes at least.

Control their running? Yeah right. If they could, this run in wouldn't have happened in the first place. 'If your running was controlled, we never would have met. Maybe one should focus on other things simply than matters of food, for look at the mess you have made of yourself. An eyesore to be completely honest', though his eyes twinkled, a small indication of the joking nature of his words. 

'Which family do you hail from? The lands of the waters, breeze, storms or murk?' he queried, not exactly sure what to say to the cat. This was the first clan cat he had met, and he currently wasn't overly impressed. He shuffled to sit down, reaching out a leg to begin grooming while showing no indication of leaving, or moving for the matter. Maybe talking was just an excuse to stop walking but he told himself otherwise. 'I am Chimera, an enlightened feline birthed from the farms not far from here.'

  Potato had to stifle his own laugh at the outburst of the warrior. Clearly he had bruised their ego in some way and he couldn't help but smile. 'The fact that you think so poorly us cats who dwell outside the forests is hurtful'. His face drooped, but really he couldn't care less. Well, he cared about others thought of him, but how they though of his upbringing, he couldn't care less unless they planned on dissing Gnome. 

'There is nothing stopping you from asking for food from the humans other than your unintelligent way of life. You can hunt and take, but I forgot you are a bit of a dunce so maybe not.' Oh how he was loving this interaction.

Bayflower, its sounded both wrong to the ear and wrong to the mouth, but he just shrugged. 'Will the one known as Bayflower stay here to converse? Or return back to the homeland in which they were borne, I do wonder' he said, giving the feline a sparkling look with his eyes.

   'A Code? So one is saying that even if you were starving, you would not resort to human food? One would rather perish? Pathetic. There is a reason why you forest dwellers live for less years than others, and this is one of the many reason why. Foolish. Why do you continue down this path? Please, enlighten me.' The red silver cat said such while slowly circling the warrior, taking the time to properly look at them, their build and the way they presented themself. 

Well fed, but lacking the softer edges that a cat such as Potato gained from feeding off fat mice and rats, along with the occasional human treat. Potato gave the warrior a grin when they mentioned they would stay. 'If you are WindClan's best, then I am, to be completely honest. Dissapointed.'

   Potato was doing his best to keep himself composed as he saw the WindClan warrior begin to get irritated. He continued his circling, each paw touching the ground with an air of confidence while he kept himself poised. 'I am not here to fight little warrior, please do calm oneself. Such aggression could result in a permanent snarl on your face, how distasteful.'

The red silver tom then stretched himself out, forearms outstretched as his lifted his hind to the air giving himself a nice stretch. After this, he laid down, closed his eyes and feigned a yawn. He peeked one eye open, giving Bayflower a sidewards glance. 'Do tell me of your home. My ménage would love to know a little about how the forest inhabitants live. I guess you could say I'm curious myself, as it seems to produce such odd felines' he said, giving Bayflower a little wink, indicating they were the 'odd' cat he was talking about.

  While the warrior may have mimicked him, Potato couldn't help but feel slight satisfaction as they padded away, clearly not appreciating the barn cat's attitude. With a rumbling purr, Potato called out as the feline left, 'Goodbye compact warrior! I hope we don't have the misfortune of crossing paths again!'

While the encounter was short, it left Potato feeling more fulfilled than he had before. Still, it was not yet time to return home, so getting up with a little huff, Potato continued his travels, mind occasionally wandering back to the WindClan warrior.
