Closed Thread A Sushi Made With Flowers [LN3]

It was always such a joy to frolic about in the wild, Sushi understood why the strange 'clan' cats spoke so highly of living there, Sushi couldn't imagine living here herself, but it was always fun to banter with the locals of the clans and alike. Who knows, she might make more friends. That's who I'll be, Sushi, friend to all, the ginger and black she-cat thought to herself, bounding though the  borders, she could tell it was such because of the pungent scent of all the clans and a scent that made her mouth water, but it was followed by scuffling noises when she got closer to investigate.

Sushi shrugged, causing a jingling of her salmon pink belled collar, the collar making its own song as she trotted along the border. Sushi yawned, it wasn't often that her housefolk let her out in this season, so she was more then happy that they agreed to her requests in whatever language they were speaking. Whatever language those big hairless things spoke, she knew that they wouldn't mind her wondering about as long as she returned to her home, her mother and father would also worry so she wouldn't drift to far regardless.

At the most recent scuffling noise, a sleek black cat stood there, their gaze almost as dark as their pelt and Sushi almost didn't see the cat, but could certainly smell them, not matter how many times she came to the clan territory on her little expeditions, she would never get used to that scent, well, the multitude of them anyway. But this cat smelt strangly... milky, as if he were to constantly visit a mother and her kittens, maybe Sushi could me the kittens of these weird wild cats!

Sushi’s green eyes lit up as she spotted the unfamiliar cat, her tail swishing with excitement. She had wandered far from home, but she didn’t see anything wrong with that. After all, it was such a big, interesting world, and she loved meeting new friends! When Bayflower addressed her, the sound of their voice immediately caught her attention. She blinked at them, tilting her head slightly as she gave a warm, unbothered smile.

"Oh! Hi there!" she meowed cheerfully, padding closer to him without an ounce of hesitation. "I’m Sushi! Are you here to play too? I was just exploring, you know, seeing what’s out here!" Her fluffy tail curled with excitement as she gazed around, clearly not grasping that she was close to a clan border.

Sushi had never met a cat quite like this one before, they weren’t a kittypet like her, but she didn’t mind. Her curiosity had always outweighed any sense of caution. "What’s your name?" she asked eagerly, her eyes wide with interest. "I didn’t know there were so many other cats out here! It’s so nice to meet you!" She had completely missed the guarded tone in Bayflower’s voice and the way he looked at her, far too focused on the thrill of a new potential friend.

"Sushi!" The calico she-cat cheerily corrected, her long furred tail settling down lower to the floor as she smiled widely at the dark warrior and perked up her ears with curiosity. "You gotta make an 'E' sound at the end, Sushi" She added, putting extra emphasis on the mispronunciation of her own name by a cat with a name that she could never really get used to, nor understand. But she didn't need to understand how these cats ere named, a friend was a friend!

At the mention of food, Sushi shifted her position a moment, glancing around, left to right, and in turn, the bell on her collar chimed a high pitched metal ringing sound. Something many domestic cats, but very few clan cats would understand very well, though it never seemed to bother Sushi. "It's the point of why the little silver thing on my collar is for, I used to chase birds as a kit and my housefolk put this thing on me, scares em off before I can get a good grip" She explained, batting at the bell with one paw, making it continue its rhythmic ringing.

"I've noticed though" Sushi's voice softened, but was still far to eager for a kittypet passing through so close to a clan territory. "Wherever I go, the ringing follows, I've gotten used to it" despite the almost constant chiming of the bell, Sushi seemed completely unbothered, many kittypets were very well fed, and Sushi was no different, her belly rounder and more well fed than any clan cat that could have been met. And yet, she still had the scent of a she-cat, she had yet to go to the cutter, and potentially never would. "I wanna know more about this food you eat, I don't see any bowls for it to go in"

Sushi tilted her head, her whiskers twitching with amusement as Bayflower spoke. "I’m not exactly sure what sushi is, but my dame, Aoi, said it’s something the housefolk really like to eat. She used to say that it must be really special because they always seem happy when they talk about it." She paused, her green eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Maybe it’s like... a special kind of food for them? Like how prey is for you, you do eat animals live right?."

She giggled at the idea of twolegs hunting something called sushi the way warriors hunted for birds or mice. "I guess Chimera’s name is just as strange, huh? I don’t know what that is either. Maybe it’s something even bigger than a rabbit!" She grinned at the thought, clearly not too bothered by the mystery of it all.

Sushi listened closely to Bayflower's explanation about hunting. "That sounds... hard. But cool" she admitted. "I’ve only ever eaten out of a bowl, and you’re right—it’s just something the housefolk put our food in. But I like how you don’t need that. Eating from the floor... it sounds more... free." She gazed around the camp, as if imagining what it would be like to live without walls, bowls, or housefolk routines. The idea was thrilling, even if a little intimidating for her.

"Maybe one day, I’ll learn how to catch a bird too" she added softly, her smile turning more thoughtful. "But I think I’ll stick with my kittypet food for now."

Sushi’s eyes widened with curiosity as Bayflower tried to imagine what a sushi could look like. The image of a creature with fins or long legs made her giggle softly, a light, innocent sound. "I dunno what a sushi looks like, but... I don’t think it has legs. My mother told me it’s something housefolk eat with sticks, and it’s made of fish and other stuff." She tilted her head, thinking hard. "Maybe it looks like... a small, flat fish? I’ve never seen it myself, though."

Her gaze dropped briefly to the bell around her neck as Bayflower mentioned it, the soft chime it made whenever she moved reminding her of her life with the twolegs. "Yeah, the bell makes it hard to sneak up on anything. I tried once, but the birds always fly away before I even get close." There was a hint of frustration in her voice, but she quickly brushed it off with a sheepish grin. "But it’s not so bad. I guess I don’t need to hunt like you do... the housefolk always bring me food."

She glanced back up at Bayflower, her green eyes curious. "What’s it like, though? Hunting? It sounds exciting... even if I’m not very good at it." There was a small flicker of admiration in her voice, as if she couldn’t quite imagine herself doing something so brave and skillful.
