Long Description :

Silentwish is a thin she-cat with medium length, moon-like white fur. She has an ominous, vibrant green eye and one beautiful sky blue eye. She looks somewhat ghostly on cold nights, especially in the mist.

Personality

Silentwish is a mysterious she-cat that has a cold disposition to many, only letting her guard down around the cats she cares about. She is not the most loyal of cats, and has trouble trusting others. She is quite empathetic, despite not showing it.

Full History :

Kit Backstory:

As a kit, Silentkit was thought to be a ghost, and many of the other kits would avoid her, fearing that she would find a way to harm them if they said something hurtful to her.  She was raised an orphan, but Quailcall would sometimes come and give her some silent company. Many cats in the clan avoided her for fear that she was a ghost, as she was taken into the clan when she appeared out of nowhere on the territory one cold, misty night.

Silentkit spent a lot of time in the medicine den, despite how much she was told to leave. She eventually learned how to use basic herbs by listening and watching, but she was constantly told not to meddle in medicine cat knowledge. Most of her reason for visiting was to learn more about StarClan, but no cat was willing to share their knowledge with her, making her despise the medicine cats and other members of the Clan. Disgusted by the way her Clanmates treated her, she began secretly sleeping outside of the nursery on the cold ground, hoping that somecat would care, but none every really did.

Apprentice Backstory:

Once she was made an apprentice, she immediately began ignoring the orders given to her, bolting out of camp before her new mentor, Quailcall, could even tell her to clean the elders’ ticks, which she’d probably be doing later anyways. After running for a long time, she began exploring the territory on her own, being sure to catch the mouse that she found nibbling some seeds underneath a tree. Watching the apprentices in camp as a kit must have helped a lot with her hunting crouch…

Probably about a moon and a half later, Silentpaw was creeping through the bushes, her differently colored eyes glowing in the darkness as she leapt on top of the raven, slashing at its throat with her claws. It truly was much better to sleep out in the territory instead of  in the stuffy ThunderClan dens. The happiness emanating from her Clanmates was utterly disgusting.

Warrior Backstory:

After her warrior ceremony, Silentwish began spending most of her time away from camp, visiting the small river that marked the edge of the territory. Every once in a while she would see a misty gray she-cat with green eyes on the other side, staring through her as though she wasn’t there. It always seemed like she was waiting for somecat, but no one ever came to meet her.

She was always their on the nights of the half moon, and she frequently showed up on misty nights, always sitting in the same spot on RiverClan’s side of the border. She always wondered if the misty gray she-cat could hear the whispers in the mist, but she shook the thought off. No cat could hear what she could, and no cat would ever believe her if she told them.

As the wind rustled the leaves in the trees, a cold feeling began welling up inside her, and a whisper blew in her ear, a whisper that no other cat would ever hear.

Mentor(s) :
Quailcall (A small red ticked torbie bicolor she-cat with large ears and whispery voice)
Others :

Quailcall is probably the closest cat she ever had to a parent, which is why she was chosen to be Silentpaw’s mentor. Also, they’re both kind of quiet, so they would work well as a mentor and apprentice pair. (Also, will my character start out as a kit or will she start out as a warrior? I would like to know please.)

One day I would like her to get a mate, but I don’t see any particularly interesting cats at the moment…

Genetics :
This character requires a genetic code to be bred.
Notes

Public :

She has a connection to the spirit world, and is of unknown origins. (I’m not changing the fact that she has a connection to a spirit world through the mist, got it?)

  1. Another game you say? There isn’t another game! I have restirctions on my laptop and computer, meaning that this is one of the few websites that I’m allowed in. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game where you’re even allowed to create your character’s backstory. Also, how am I going to become friends with players and staff if I can’t even make a character? If I have no character, I’m most likely going to be ignored as a new player that nobody has a reason to interact with. How do you delete characters? Cuz I definitely have two that probably never should’ve existed.

    • Unfortunately, I cannot help you with the various restrictions on your computer. Creating a backstory is a common element of play-by-post RP. As for becoming friends with other players: We all go out of our way to make new members welcome. Unfortunately, most of our casual stuff happens on discord, so if you reach out to other players it will end up needing to be via site PMs.

If you go to the bottom of a character sheet you can “abandon” them in the special tools area (It’s a flydown right before the comments).

    • You’ll need to visit the Moons Page. That page lists out the moons, indicates the current moon, and shows what age characters born in a moon are. Since I don’t know how old you intend the character to be, I can’t just pick one for you.

  2. Also, what’s up with all the rules? Characters aren’t allowed to be described as beautiful, mysterious, ghostly, etc, when we describe people and cats that way all the time in real life? I can understand that the cats in the original books don’t have a very wide human vocabulary, but this seems a bit much.

    • Character sheets are intended as a resource for other players. It means describing the things that give an impression rather than the impression itself so that they can decide how their own character will see that. When you’re actually RPing the restriction is a bit lighter. These rules have been in place since 2005, when the game started.

    • Non-staff players don’t generally pay attention to the comments on a character sheet as they’re not responsible for the review process.

  3. Age:age of -1 moons (-0.1 years)’ & ’Born in the Moon of Unnamed Blue (2021) : The age is currently showing as -1 moons because the moon you’ve selected

    Appearance:

    • moon-like white fur – This would be considered Pre-interpretive power play. You can’t tell other people how thier characters must interpret your character, only what traits you think will give this impression. More details about why we feel this is powerplaying and how to avoid it are HERE.
    • ominous, vibrant green eye and one beautiful sky blue eye – The words ‘ominous’ and ‘beautiful’ are also pre-interpretive powerplaying.
    • She looks somewhat ghostly on cold nights, especially in the mist. – More pre-interpretive powerplaying, but I’m sure you realized this on your own after checking out the link above.

    Personality: a mysterious she-cat – Pre-interpredtive power play.

    History:

    • Silentkit was thought to be a ghost, and many of the other kits would avoid her, fearing that she would find a way to harm them if they said something hurtful to her. – Unless you speak to the players of all characters who would have shared the nursery with Silentkit, this would be powerplaying because you’re making them both think and act a certain way. If they agree before approval that this would be accurate, this would be acceptable.
    • She was raised an orphan – Here an orphaned kitten would be adopted by someone who would be responsible for caring for them. In a sense they’d have an adoptive parrent.
    • Quailcall would – You’ll need freerangerage’s permission to use their character in your character sheet.
    • Many cats in the clan avoided her for fear that she was a ghost, as she was taken into the clan when she appeared out of nowhere on the territory one cold, misty night. – Powerplaying.
    • despite how much she was told to leave and but she was constantly told not to meddle in medicine cat knowledge and about StarClan, but no cat was willing to share their knowledge with her – Got to reach out to the player who would have been in the position when you figure out the age. I think it will be Kaz’s Fawnbriar, but I won’t be sure until the age is handled.
    • Disgusted by the way her Clanmates treated her, she began secretly sleeping outside of the nursery on the cold ground, hoping that somecat would care, but none every really did. – Powerplaying. I’m sure a number of players have characters who would have interfered with that.
    • she immediately began ignoring the orders given to her, bolting out of camp before her new mentor […] could even tell her to clean the elders’ ticks, which she’d probably be doing later anyways. After running for a long time, she began exploring the territory on her own – Apprentices, especially young ones would be in huge ammounts of trouble and have had their mentor (and likely other cats) trying to put a stop to that.
    • being sure to catch the mouse that she found nibbling some seeds underneath a tree – As they don’t have training, and have hardly been outside of the camp, I doubt this. Especially with how seperate from the other cats they would have potentially learned any pre-apprenticing skills from, and thus would have very little knowlege on that front.
    • Probably about a moon and a half later, Silentpaw was creeping through the bushes, her differently colored eyes glowing in the darkness as she leapt on top of the raven, slashing at its throat with her claws. – Not really a demand for change, more of a question about why it’s here? It dosen’t seem to bring anything to the history as it’s not really connected to any incident in her life, just a moment of hunting, which is very normal.
    • It truly was much better to sleep out in the territory instead of  in the stuffy ThunderClan dens – This behavior would be a thing that the leader would likely have addressed as it’s just not something a clan cat is expected to have done. I did verify this with the player of Moosestar, the Leader.
    • The happiness emanating from her Clanmates – Powerplay.
    • visiting the small river that marked the edge of the territory – The borders marked on our ThunderClan Territory Map only have a borders with the river at Sunningrocks. The sidestream is well wiithin the borders.
    • she would see a misty gray she-cat with green eyes on the other side, staring through her as though she wasn’t there – I am making the assumption that this is one of two things. If it’s a.) An actual apportition it wouldn’t be permitted in a cat. and if it’s b.) some sort of cat in another clan that they’re related to, it’s also not permitted unless the litter has happened “on camera” in role play.
    • but she shook the thought off. No cat could hear what she could, – Any sepcial powers would have to be arranged with the staff in advance and would not even be considered until you’ve been at the game awhile. This sort of thing would be a seriously major plot at least at the clan level, if not more.

Mentor: Quaillcall – I already talked about needing to clear this with the other player.

Notes, Public: She has a connection to the spirit world, and is of unknown origins. (I’m not changing the fact that she has a connection to a spirit world through the mist, got it?) – While I understand that you want this it simply is not permitted here. This would require an incredibly major plot to be developed with the staff to happen. It’s not impossible, but it’s just not an option to even consider at this time.

Your character, as written, is well outside our rules. As some of the features of this character seem to be non-negotiable for this character concept I do suggest that you start from scratch and come back to this concept at a later time if a plot gets worked out as you get to know the staff and other players. This character might even be a better fit at another game.

I do hope that you’ll go forward with another character concept designed in a way that is more in line with the CoSC Rules.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    • How am I supposed to interact with PEOPLE? I literally have no friends whatsoever when it comes to the online world, and the ones I have in the real world probably don’t care about me, so how am I supposed to meet with people in this community? I don’t exactly expect them, or anyone to speak to me like I’m a friend. Also, there isn’t really anywhere I can talk to the people of the community anyways. The only person I’ve talked to is you, and you’re pretty much just my nonchalant editor…

      • You’ll have more opportunities once you’re integrated into the game and able to join RP. I’m sorry that I can’t help you with your life in meatspace, but I do recommend reaching out to a therapist if you feel so isolated. As I have said before, most of our casual interaction is on discord, which I understand is not possible for you. The forum itself is oriented towards the role play only.

As for my position as an editor… My job is to help you get a character through approvals. Which means being professional as an administrator. I promise you that I’m human and once we’ve settled out the character stuff we’ll be able to get to know each other through our characters.
