Gingerleaf is a red classic tabby with short fur. White extends from halfway up her sides down to her paws. Her muzzle is white as well. Her eyes are deep orange, almost the same color as her pelt.

Gingerleaf is a hardworking and tender-hearted cat. Her personality’s lack of force renders her incapable of saying “no”. She’s always eager to take the blame, and has not a resentful bone in her body as long as one doesn’t count self-resentment.

Gingerleaf was born into WindClan in the Moon of Lion’s Glory (2018). In the Moon of Running Prey (2020), she bore three kits by Sandhaze. Two were stillborn and one of those deformed as a result of some tainted prey she had eaten during her pregnancy. She named her living kit Petalkit. Thoughts of her two lost kittens haunted her, and she drifted through the next few moons in a fog. She regretted not giving the Petalkit the attention and enthusiasm she would have otherwise, but the nursery—and even Petalkit, at times—had become reminders of her kitting.

Things improved as time passed, but Petalkit had given up on being close to her, and though Gingerleaf desperately wanted to make up for her earlier detachment, she couldn’t bring herself to press the issue. Petalkit had a much stronger personality than Gingerleaf had ever possessed herself, and after all, she thought, she had been the one at fault.

Gingerleaf was out hunting on her own one day when she crossed paths with a twoleg. The twoleg captured her and took her back to its den. It wasn’t long before it took her to the Cutter, and after that Gingerleaf’s fighting instinct went inexplicably from lacking to nonexistent. She tried to escape once or twice but soon gave up. The twoleg was kind to her, and she couldn’t deny how easy it was to be alone, with no one to hurt and no one to be hurt by, with absolutely nothing nearby to inflame bad memories.
