Jasper

A mid-furred black tomcat with pale green eyes

Jasper’s fur is medium-long, tending on the long side. His eyes are a bright pale green that stands out against his inky pelt. His nose and paw pads are as black as his fur.

Jasper is an all but dauntless young tom eager to explore the unfamiliar wild. He finds it difficult to trust or connect with others; his shyness manifests as rudeness and defensiveness, occasionally sullenness. Despite his reserved demeanor, he likes to feel useful and doesn’t mind doing his part for SkyClan. He is never one to stand down when he feels he should act and attempts to solve most problems with brute force. He hates asking for help and is easily embarrassed.

Jasper’s street cat upbringing has left him with a slightly vulgar sense of humor and a slangy manner of speaking.

Jasper was born into a small cat colony in Whitehart. The colony consisted of his mother (its matriarch), two of her sisters, and their many kittens, sired by various toms that resided nearby. He had two littermates. One of his littermates died of an illness when he was a few moons old.

When Jasper was 10 months old, humans found his colony and captured most of its members, leaving only one of his aunts and a few of his siblings and cousins. His aunt wasted no time in leaving the colony to find a new, larger one, and one of Jasper’s older sisters became matriarch. Unfortunately, Jasper had never gotten along well with this particular sister, and she chased him out of the colony after an argument, mere days into her reign. Jasper had already intended to leave the colony soon, as nearly all toms did around his age, so he accepted being exiled without a putting up fight. All this happened within the span of a week, before the humans could return the now-nutered members of the colony they had taken.

Having always been curious about the wild areas beyond Whitehart, Jasper headed in their direction to find some territory of his own. He spent about a month living alone on the outskirts of Whitehart, occasionally venturing deeper into the land beyond. It didn’t take long for him to realize, though it surprised him, that he missed being part of a group. When offered a place in SkyClan, he joined without hesitation.
