Beewhisker had been tucked in the nursery ever since Cedarkit and BerryKit were born, not like they had room to complain, they adored their kittens to but, little Cedarkit and oh so tiny Berrykit. Though they have been growing, Berrykit still remained rather small, but he was healthy, that is what mattered, all the effort to bring these kits into the world was worth it.
Cedarkit seemed to be snoozing soundly, he was bigger than most kits, perhaps he’d get Beewhisker’s height. Though they noticed Berrykit’s swirled tabby pelt shift and stir, he was waking up!
"Good morning baby, how was your sleep?" Beewhisker whispered, their voice loving and smooth as they rasped their tongue over Berrykit’s pelt to tidy up his fur and gentle nudged his little head up with their nose

Berrykit let out a yawn, before blinking up at his Dame. "Hungry." He blurted out before burying himself into Beewhiskers stomach to suckle. He stayed there a few minutes before giving a slight hiccup. Blinking the sleep from his eyes he looked back up at her with excitement in his eyes. "Beewhisker. Can I go watch the apprentices? I wanna see them fight!" He hopped up, still a little wobbly on his feet. He bounced around the nursery before batting at his mothers tail. "It'll be so fun!"

Beewhisker chuckled softly, watching Berrykit’s little wiggles of excitement with a warm, adoring gaze. Seeing him already eager to leap into the world of training and apprenticeships filled them with pride... and a bit of worry. Berrykit was still so small, and the thought of him darting around the bustling camp brought a flutter of unease to Beewhisker’s heart. He still had plenty of time to grow, and the nursery was a safer, warmer place for him right now.
With a grin, Beewhisker gently swished their tail just out of his reach, attempting to catch his eye. "How about a little game of ‘catch the tail’ instead?" they teased, wiggling their tail like a feather just inches away from his paws. "Bet you can’t catch me!" Beewhisker let out a laugh, giving their tail another playful flick to keep him interested.
"Besides" they added, voice light and playful, "I bet I’m a better opponent than any apprentice out there. Just look at these paws!" They gave a gentle stretch, paws spreading wide before they lightly batted the air, all to draw Berrykit’s focus and let him enjoy the thrill of a chase, right here in the safety of the nursery.

Berrykits eyes widened. Beewhisker was a warrior. The idea of getting to train with them was incredible. Even if it was just catch the tail. Excitedly he dropped into a rather clumsy crouch, wiggling his backside back and forth in the air before jumping with a slight squeal at the tail.
He'd show Beewhisker that even though he was small he could still be the best warrior ever! As he batted at the fluffy tail of his parent, he looked up at them and purred with delight. "This is fun!"

Beewhisker purred, their whiskers twitching in delight as they watched Berrykit’s eager crouch. The little kit’s wiggling rump and enthusiastic leap were enough to melt anyone’s heart, and Beewhisker’s bright eyes sparkled with pride and amusement.
"Oh, Berrykit, you’re already such a fierce little hunter!" they laughed warmly, flicking their fluffy tail just out of his reach and letting him chase it a little more. "But don’t forget—you’ve got to stay light on your paws! Silent as a mouse, quick as the wind!" With a playful flick of their paw, they batted his ear gently, keeping the game going with an encouraging grin.
"This is fun, isn’t it?" they chuckled, feeling a warmth in their chest that only moments like this could bring. "One day, you’ll be a warrior out in the fields, and no mouse or bird will stand a chance!" Beewhisker’s voice softened as they gazed at him, their tone brimming with affection. "But for now… catching tails will do just fine." They flicked their tail again, leaning down so Berrykit could grab hold of it, their purr growing louder.
