~When can I see the world?~

Berrykit stretched as he slipped out of the nursery. He couldn't stand being in the cramped space for long. Gazing around the camp, he tried to decide where he would go to play. He could go check out the warriors den but he didn't want to get yelled at by the older cats again. Where could he go that he wouldn't get in trouble?

His pale blue eyes landed on the elders den and glowed with mischief. Hee dropped into what he thought was a hunters crouch and began moving forward. As he creeped closer he tried to scent the air. The scents of all kinds of cats mingled together, but one stood out to him. Sunbear. Maybe he could sneak up on the elder.

He tried to be as quiet as possible as he crept through the entrance, hoping that he could blend in to the walls of the den.

The elder never really slept deeply, it became somewhat of a habit to always sleep with her ears open for any noises out of the ordinary, and this was no different. No matter how peaceful, Sunbear was still alert to her surroundings and when Berrykit took a step into the elder's den, her nap had been cut short as her eyes slowly opened to take a good look at the small cream tabby.

"Can I help you with something Berrykit?" She asked dryly, though she had no intentions of being intimidating, even with her scarred up face and large size compared to the tiny kitten. "Or is ruining naps just your specialty?" she added, though her voice was of its usual flatness, there was a hint of amusement in her eyes as she spoke to one of the youngest kits in WindClan. The large elder lifted her head slowly, her torn ear twitching slightly in acknowledgement.

For a moment, it was nothing but silence, but then Sunbear sighed and moved her body she her warm and soft belly was in the open if Berrykit wanted to have something to cuddle up to, similar to how his sibling, Cedarkit once had. "Come on then, it's cold out there" she beckoned Berrykit with a flick of her tail into the warmth elders' den

Freezing in place at the sound of the she-cats voice, he glanced over at the elder. Sunbear was much larger than him and he couldn't help but wonder if he had done the wrong thing trying to sneak up on her.

Once Sunbear revealed her belly to him and he purred and sped across the den, hopping into the nest a little less than gracefully. He curled in and looked up at the scarred face above him. "Hi Sunbear! Got any stories for me?" His pale blue eyes shinning with excitement.

"You want a story do you?" Sunbear mused, wrapping her plumed tail around Berrykit to keep him warm from leaf-bare's chill. Sunbear was silent for a moment, she had never been good at telling stories, perhaps she wasn't great at imagining things, and she didn't want to tell the kit anything to explicit about herself, only a few clanmate knew about her past and it was brief, no kit will know about who she was. 

Sunbear stretched out her front paws and stretched out her paws before quickly sheathing the claws again. "I'm not too good with stories" she said plainly, Sunbear was not a cat that would openly lie to any cat, especially a kit who's mind is still developing. "Your sister gave me some company a few days ago, perhaps you can climb over me to practice with bigger enemies in battle hm?" she suggested.

Sunbear's eyes flicked towards the little tabby kitten, he was certainly a cute one that was for sure, big blue eyes just like his dame, not a fantastic pelt color but who needed one, his energy more than made up for it. "And how about this, if you can pin me down, I'll tell you a story, do we have a deal little one?"

Ears drooping a bit from not hearing a story, Berrykit scuffed the ground with his paw. He loved hearing tales of the past from the Elders. But at the mention of training he perked right back up and began hopping around excitedly.

"Really? Ok give me just a moment!" He ran off and hid behind a nest. Waiting a few seconds he dropped into another clumsy crouch and crept towards the older she-cat. He was determined to pin her down, not only did he want a story but he couldn't resist the challenge.

Stalking closer until he was a few paw steps away he pretended to spring into the air before darting to the side and launching himself from his new position. He landed on her, it was ungraceful and he couldn't find his balance, but he did land on her.

Sunbear rolled her eyes, whiskers twitching in amusement at the kits excitement to do a little mock battle. And even if it was fake, Sunbear was sure that a kit like Berrykit would treat it as if it were a real one, so Sunbear would try her best to act as if she was in a real battle without doing any harm to the small kit, this was just a game after all.

"Give you a moment, of course" Sunbear replied in her usual flat tone, but there was a chuckle behind it as she lay her head on the ground. When she heard the shuffling of tiny paws, her ears perked and she narrowed her eyes, though she wasn't as fast as she used to be, she still knew that the little kit was trying to pin her back, which meant he would have won rather quickly. She wouldn't be making it that easy for him.

The large ruddy toned elder rolled onto her back while Berrykit was in the air, giving a soft 'hmph' as he landed on her fluffy belly. When Berrykit made contact with her belly fur, she rolled onto her side and pushed him lightly onto the moss with one big paw. Sunbear chuckled softly. "Have to be prepared if your opponent rolls, though, you'll be bigger when you start training to fight" she chuckled, lifting her paw up and tucking it under her chest. "I like your strategy of shifting direction last second, you're a clever kit. Try again, maybe you'll pin me this time"

He hit the moss with a slight "Oomph." Sunbear was much bigger than he was. He knew it wouldn't be easy to defeat her. He listened carefully to her words making sure to remember what she was saying. His fur tingled at being called clever.

"Be prepared for rolls." He repeated softly to himself before rearing up on his hinds legs and batting at the elder. He was sure he could win. Nothing was going to stop him from getting that story.

"Ahhh terrible pain, I am being defeated" Sunbear said in a, not-very-convincing, tone of voice that seemed so foreign comparted to Sunbear's usual flatness of voice, something of distant whimsy, but still no where near close to being believable "The mighty Berrykit has won in the battle of wit and strength" she murmured under her breath, letting out a chuckle while her voice still remained rather flat. Sunbear hardly even knew why her voice was so flat in tone now, she had gotten over any deaths that would have occured to close ones in her past, so why was she so... dull?

Sunbear rolled onto her back, kicking out her back feet to assume a position of limpness on the mossy nest she was currently sharing with Berrykit. It wasn't often that Sunbear got a win against her mother and siblings as a kit, so she though that it may give Berrykit a little boost in confidence if he thought he had won the story fair-and-square, or at least, fair-and-square in his tiny blue eyes.

As she had said before, Sunbear had little knowledge of many stories kits might be interested in, but it wasn't worth arguing with a kit over, she would just make something up if worst came to worst, and perhaps she could even tell some stories she was told as a kit... if she could remember them that is. "Well I suppose a story is in order, brave WindClan warrior"
