While Aspenberry was not officially deputy, by the grace of StarClan at least, she still had a duty to do. She was up early, one of the first awake, and while it was not something she was entirely used to, she didn't mind it. She had eaten a small bird from last night, preparing herself for the dawn patrol she would lead. She waited by the pile for the rest of the clan to arise, making sure she gathered the feathers of the bird, ready to give to Brightmaple if she wanted them for her nest. Once her clan woke, Aspenberry was ready to address the clan. 

'Morning! I hope everyone rested well. I will lead the dawn patrol this morning. I'll take Bayflower and Boulderdash with me. Cloudflare, please take both Brightpaw and Beewhisker out with you for the sunhigh patrol. Shadesleek, you will go with Boldclaw, Pinestep and Doveflight on the dusk patrol. Fawn-' she stopped for a heartbeat, unsure how to address the 'temporary' leader. 'I'm sure Fawnbriar will be happy to join any of the patrols if you wish for another helping paw' 

Aspenberry didn't feel nervous addressing her clan like this, but she was still nowhere near used it, and prayed to the stars she was making the right choices for the patrols. It couldn't be that hard, right? 

'Now, for hunting patrols, I will likely go out some time after I get back from dawn patrol, anyone who wants to come with me is welcome to. Once the dawn patrol has left, Cloudflare, would you mind taking Brightpaw out for a quick hunt to make sure the pile is freshly stocked for this morning. Boulderdash, I would also like you to organise a hunting patrol of your own at some point throughout the day, please hunt between the moorlands and wind hill, as I will hunt nearer to the flatlands, and we don't want to run prey short in one area!' Aspenberry said with a little laugh. It was easy to accidently hunt in the same area multiple times, so it was best to just solve that issue now while she could. 

She nodded to her clan, signaling that they were dismissed. Aspenberry felt like today would be a hot day, for it was already quite warm despite it being morning. 'Remember to drink water while out of camp. I don't want anyone getting heat-stroke today. Hopefully StarClan looks after us.'
