Beewhisker padded around the flatlands rather dazed and in their own world, which wasn’t something out of the ordinary for the queen, even when they had been an apprentice they used to gallivant around the territory with seemingly no purpose when their mentor, Cedarprowl, had allowed such little playful behaviors. They had planned on catching a piece of fresh kill or two now that her kits were old enough to be babysat without a constant eye on them. The clan was watching them after all.

Although Beewhisker didn’t really need to hunt, it had felt so weird not to, so they had left Berrykit and Cedarkit under the watch of Sunbear in the elders’ den, who didn’t seem to mind being preoccupied with the little darlings. For at least the afternoon while Beewhisker went out to do a leisurely hunt, whatever they brought would go to the fresh kill pile anyway, or even to Sunbear as a thanks for kitsitting.

It was then that their ears perked at remembering what day it was, the day that Beewhisker had planned to meet up with Kestrelswipe to give him an update on her kits. But they wanted to grab a bit of fresh kill first, and at the scuffling of weak blades of grass, Beewhisker was quick to form a hunting crouch and creep towards the prey, a small field mouse, not bad for the weather, they thought to themself as they took their leap, landing on the mouse with calculated accuracy and lifting the mouse up in their jaws. They didn’t place the mouse down, but perhaps it was convenient that they were by the Trespass Point, and yet, far enough into their territory that it wouldn’t seem suspicious.
