The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky

Emberdust let out a huff as she shifted in her nest, trying to make herself comfortable. The nursery felt too small today, the air too thick, and her fur too warm. She kicked at a clump of moss that dared stick to her belly, muttering under her breath as she adjusted the lining of her nest for the third time that morning.
She craned her neck awkwardly to groom her swollen belly, pausing to nudge a paw against the faint flutter of life inside her.
Lifting her head, Emberdust’s gaze drifted to the den entrance, longing for some excitement or distraction. Anything to make the day go by faster. Her whiskers twitched as a flicker of amusement danced in her eyes. Even if she didn’t know it, her time was fast approaching, and the restless energy building in her felt like it might burst at any moment.

Bored, they have been for awhile and they're itching to go out of camp. For anything really. The warrior believes they'd be already fine now, it's only the stiffness they feel too long on their shoulders and back, covered with healed scars. Oh well, they might just have to walk it off around camp then...
As they pass by every den, they suddenly catch a familiar scent, coming from the nursery den. 'Strange...is there someone there?' as they said and wonder to themselves. Approaching the entrance of this den their eyes widened to see - Emberdust!
In their head, they have always wondered where she's been, and even wonder...is she a queen now?

Emberdust’s ears perked at the sound of approaching pawsteps, her orange gaze snapping to the nursery entrance with a flicker of hope. Her restless thoughts quickly gave way to a lopsided grin when she spotted the familiar figure hesitating at the threshold.
"Hey, Brackenwing!" She called out, her voice bright and tinged with her usual spark of energy. Emberdust waved her tail in an inviting sweep, shifting herself upright in her nest despite the strain it took. Her swollen belly made such movements awkward, but she wasn’t about to let that show.
Her gaze flicked over the warrior, noting the faint stiffness in their posture and the way their eyes lingered on her belly. She tilted her head, a curious spark lighting her expression. "What brings you by? Hoping to escape some boring duties, or did you just miss me? Either way, I'm glad you're here - we can chat!"
