Open to Join Bored of Waiting

Bored, they have been for awhile and they're itching to go out of camp. For anything really. The warrior believes they'd be already fine now, it's only the stiffness they feel too long on their shoulders and back, covered with healed scars. Oh well, they might just have to walk it off around camp then...
As they pass by every den, they suddenly catch a familiar scent, coming from the nursery den. 'Strange...is there someone there?' as they said and wonder to themselves. Approaching the entrance of this den their eyes widened to see - Emberdust!
In their head, they have always wondered where she's been, and even wonder...is she a queen now?

Emberdust’s ears perked at the sound of approaching pawsteps, her orange gaze snapping to the nursery entrance with a flicker of hope. Her restless thoughts quickly gave way to a lopsided grin when she spotted the familiar figure hesitating at the threshold.

"Hey, Brackenwing!" She called out, her voice bright and tinged with her usual spark of energy. Emberdust waved her tail in an inviting sweep, shifting herself upright in her nest despite the strain it took. Her swollen belly made such movements awkward, but she wasn’t about to let that show.

Her gaze flicked over the warrior, noting the faint stiffness in their posture and the way their eyes lingered on her belly. She tilted her head, a curious spark lighting her expression. "What brings you by? Hoping to escape some boring duties, or did you just miss me? Either way, I'm glad you're here - we can chat!"

"Boring duties? haha..don't think I've been on one for some time. But I'm looking to do something around here, as I took time to recover from..errr- an incident," The warrior took their time to go inside, sitting next to Emberdust's nest, and then looking at her with a small smile. "Yes, suppose I don't mind having a chat with you today Emberdust." Their tail swishes as they find the moment with Emberdust peaceful. It always felt too quiet when they had to stay in the medicine den for awhile - even though Emberdust and Specklenose were very chatty, it still brings warmth to them whenever around those two.
Brackenwing's head tilted as they looked at her again. Hesitant at first to ask but they know she wouldn't mind answering, right? "So...Emberdust, you're queen now? How is it going for you so far as one?" as they asked simply. Questions the warrior thinks are appropriate to ask the molly.

Emberdust chuckled softly, her orange eyes bright with amusement. "Sounds like you've had your paws full. The moss isn’t much for conversation, and Specklenose can only handle so much of me - Specklenose is the sire, so that means these kits will be your kin, too!"

She shifted in her nest, settling more comfortably now that Brackenwing had joined her. Their presence brought a welcome sense of normalcy to her restless day.

At their question, her expression softened, a mix of pride and uncertainty flickering across her face. "It’s... different. I won’t lie - being stuck in camp all the time feels like torture some days. I’m so used to running through the marshes and getting my paws dirty, you know?" She paused, her tail flicking lazily.

"But then I feel them moving..." Her voice dropped to a softer, more awestruck tone. Her gaze lowered to her swollen belly, and her paw rested gently over it. "And it’s like... I don’t know, like all the waiting and boredom will be worth it. I want to be the best mother I can be for them. Better than... well, better."

Brows raised as she spoke who is the sire - their sibling, Specklenose. This could mean...oh how they didn't see the signs. It shouldn't be a surprise yet this was so to them. Well even with this realization, the warrior only nodded happily and smiled when she said 'these kits will be your kins, too!'.  
Their gaze softens as they hear her express how it felt, staying here instead of what the molly causally would do as a warrior, and how she have a greater connection with her own unborn kits who will someday be born. "Well...I think you will be a great mother, Emberdust. Just keep that in mind. Though, I think there will be a long experience of being a parent - Which..did Pebbleshine ever share hers with you?" The warrior asked lastly. They knew how much their mother had taken care of them and their siblings. Feed them, cleaned them, everything Pebbleshine would do to raise her kits. Brackenwing is rather grateful.

"Thanks, Brackenwing..." Her voice was touched with gratitude. "I’ve never had to be responsible for someone else before, not like this...." Her orange eyes glimmered as she tilted her head. "If they’re anything like Specklenose, I’m sure they’ll be a pawful - but I'm kinda hoping they are." She smirked, a flicker of her usual playfulness returning.

At the mention of Pebbleshine, Emberdust hesitated, her expression growing thoughtful. "Pebbleshine... she would be a good cat to confide in, huh?" Emberdust’s tail wrapped around her paws as her gaze drifted toward the den’s entrance. "I'm honestly a little intimidated by her. She hasn't shared her experience with me yet. Maybe she's just waiting until the little furballs come out."

Emberdust blinked away the thought and returned her focus to Brackenwing, a grin forcing itself back onto her face. "Anyway...! I was thinking naming them similarly, or rather, like...a theme! Something to do with ShadowClan. It's territory, or things within it. I definitely want a Mudkit, or a Muddykit. That'd be a fine name. Do you have any suggestions, Brackenwing?"

Brackenwing chuckled lightly as she quickly discussed her ideas on what to name the kits. With the theme related to Shadowclan, that suggestion got them thinking. 
"Hmmm...Muddykit..Mudkit. I think Muddykit is a fine name yes. I may not be sure, of what your kits will look like, but maybe just one of them will suit the name." It's not only cute but Brackenwing could see the name fit with any suffix. Which...that will be a while to figure out - when Emberdust's kits will grow to an apprentice age. 
Their head turned to face the nursery entrance; gazing there as the warrior thought of their sibling. They almost lost themselves to the thought, combining the two fur coats of Emberdust and Specklenose, before then Brackenwing snapped out of it. "Ah- my apologies Emberdust. Got err..stuck in the mind for a moment." As they say,  turning their head back at her; flashing a bashful smile.

Emberdust’s face lit up as Brackenwing agreed with her choice of Muddykit. "Right? I thought it was a great name too. I mean, what better way to honor ShadowClan than with something that ties them to the marshes? Mud’s everywhere here, and it's REALLY nice. And as you said, the suffix can go anywhere! Muddyfur, Muddystream, Muddyclaw... Oh! Muddyheart! Doesn’t that sound noble?"

She paused for a breath, her tail twitching with excitement. "And for the others, I was thinking... Maybe something like Reedkit, or Marshkit, or even Pinekit? Pinekit sounds sharp - like a proper ShadowClan warrior in the making, don’t you think?" Her words came quickly now, her enthusiasm carrying her forward. "And then there’s Cranekit - oh, or Wolfkit! I want them to feel like they’re part of ShadowClan from the moment they open their eyes, you know? No question about who they are or where they belong."

Emberdust’s orange eyes glowed with pride as she rattled off her ideas, fully caught up in her own train of thought. It wasn’t until she glanced at Brackenwing and caught sight of their slightly dazed expression that she realized something was off.

"Uh... Brackenwing?" Frowning briefly, she tilted her head and flicked her shortened tail lightly against their shoulder. "Are you even listening?" The she-cat huffed lightly, teasingly. "What’s on your mind, huh?"
