Coldgaze addressed the warriors surrounding him with some level of apprehension. This weighed heavy on his mind - the whole poison discovery and what it meant for his clan. Which meant... it was high time to do something about it.

"Riverclan, your attention." He waited for additional stragglers before continuing. "With the addition of poison to our land-prey, leafbare is only going to be harder once the water freezes." He knew that this was likely on the mind of most of the warriors, even though none had voiced their concerns to leaderships. He might as well be the first. "I need Bloomfire, Briarfang, Cottonbright, and Goosesong at the river -  fish what we can before the supply completely vanishes." He let that 'implied order' sink in to the siblings before continuing.

Sending Cottonbright and Goosesong along was a risk. But if he only sent notoriously brash cats to the border, some scrutiny would be raised. That, and if Bloomfire and Briarfang actually went along with the idea of goading Thunderclan into attacking first while they were on the other side of the river, he could have cats that Boldstar trusted report the scene to him. See - it wasn't us! Thunderclan attacked us on our own territory - or at least that's how he hoped the scene would go.

"Nettlesky and Alderfly will focus on hunting down land-prey near Rockpath and South Field. I expect the two of you to check them before bringing any poison into the camp - leave them buried in dirtplace. We still have some kits about." He wanted nothing to do with prey they couldn't eat. Why bother putting the bodies in the pile where someone could forget? "Try to keep a record of where you caught everything so we might see where this is most prevalent."

"And finally. Thornstrike and myself will be doing the same, and going to look along the River Thicket and Eastern Thicket. I want to know how far the poison extends. Perhaps areas further away from are less affected." Not only was the area potentially less poisoned but it was also within yowling distance of Sunningrocks. Perfect area to provide backup from.

"That is all. I trust you." He stretched from his sitting position, and hopped off the root to find Thornstrike.
