Bloodlines of strength ignite fierce souls

Wildcry stirred as dawn broke the treeline. No rogues or danger she could sense, but they were still here...Still pressed into the orchard. Cats still needed to eat, though. Age had never earned her the luxury of ignoring her body, and her aches still remembered the day prior. Even then, she stretched.
First her forelegs then she shifted her weight, extending one hind leg at a time before arching her spine high. With that she gave her pelt a shake and her eye swept camp, taking stock. The patrols had been cut thin since the evacuation. Every warrior mattered now and there were too many who were still healing. All needed to eat. So she would hunt...Eventually.
She ran her tongue over her back paw, smoothing down the fur and began picking out her claws. She'd be using them soon.

Tree
Stormfall lay off to the side of the makeshift camp. It still didn't look like much except for a bunch of strays hiding among unfamiliar trees. At least most of them were keeping their heads up. As for himself, his leg was still aching, and he was beginning to wonder if it was more than the old snake bite wound.
Wildcry's lilac pelt caught his eye as she stretched, presumably for some sort of excursion. His tail flicked with some amusement. "You're raring to go, even considering the circumstances, huh?"

Wildcry's ear flicked at the tom's voice, and she turned her head to regard him. "Especially considering the circumstances." She reitterated was a dry edge to her tone. If anything it gave her more reason to keep moving.
Her gaze traveled over Stormfall, taking stock of the way he held himself and the strain that lingered around his injured leg. "How's that leg of yours? Still giving you trouble?"
She finished picking at the last of her claws, then rose to her paws, giving her limbs one final stretch. There wasn't enough warriors to go around and she wasn't about to waste a morning sitting idle while the Clan needed her. After a moment, her expression shifted into something faintly challenging.
"I'm going to see what I can catch." Her tail tip twitched as she glanced toward the trees beyond the orchard. "You interested in coming with me anyway?" The words were blunt, straight to the point. If Stormfall could manage the excursion, an extra pair of eyes would be welcome at least.
